Lydia Hawk Elementary School

This school is AWESOME! My son has ADHD, and needs extra help in the classroom to stay focused. His teacher last year, Miss Mills, was excellent in her handling of my sons behavioral issues.

This year, he has one of the most innovative teachers i've ever had the pleasure of working with, Mrs. Kucharski, or Mrs K as she is better known. She is hands down one of the most amazing teachers my son has learned from. She had extra training in ADHD techniques, and allows the kids to move, bounce, walk around, and anything they need to be successful. Its really amazing to watch my little boy (who is now the highest reader in his class of 16...Go, Hunter!) come home daily and talk about how excited he is to come to school and that his teacher allows them to move chairs and not have assigned seating and that the whole class gets along because kids dont have to sit beside others they dont get along with.

I love this school. The staff works hard to make sure their students get the help they need. They go the extra mile for their students and their families ☺ The front office staff are friendly and welcoming.

What people are saying about the principal are spot on! And I thought I was the only one who thought that way. I can't stand her... Fortunantly the teachers make up for it! Wonderful teachers who truly care about the kids.

The school has LOST my children twice now and they have only been enrolled there for a month! 1st time was told to come pick them up, got there and my kids werent even on school property. 2nd time they called me saying my 1st grader was absent and asked if she was sick. When she was indeed in class and they over looked her during attendance. As a mother I dont appreciate those calls making me stressed and worried more than I already am. Also they have been bullied none stop and the school does nothing about it.

Great staff horrible principal. She talks down to students and staff. She even got rid of one of the best kindergarten teachers ever and now also causing many teachers to look elsewhere
