I was cautious about picking a real estate agent, as I wanted to make sure I found somebody who had my best interest at heart. Realtors are payed when they sell a home, so there's always the incentive for them to urge you to buy something that's not right for you.

I went into my working relationship with Matt with that in mind, and I am happy to say that it was clear that he had my best interest at heart.

First of all, he took me to see a bunch of listings, even ones that weren't exactly what I was looking for. I felt bad about taking his time, which he assured me was not a problem, and it was pretty cool to see as many different units as we did. I was concerned he might pressure me to bid on a place I didn't like, but quite the opposite. Sometimes when I was waffling he would say "this isn't the place for you." The I'd realize he was right.

We eventually found my dream place after 6 months of searching and got it. Obviously he was fully knowledgable about the closing process. Nothing sexy there, you sort of expect it of an agent. As far as I can tell, he did a perfect job.
