I was referred to Dental Care of Lacey by a friend. Had a great experience. They gave me an exam and x-rays, and then sat down and explained the x-ray and plan for upcoming visits and care. I was VERY pleased with the service, response, and time that they spent to answer questions and provide upcoming care.

He has a very funny personality. I had received shotty, poor crown work from him. I went back to have him correct it, but he failed again.
Afraid to go back, I went to another dentist to have a whole new crown replacement. I should have complained further. (This happened several years ago.)
Expensive tooth,, ended up costing me double, $2500+.

I went to this dentist because my two front bottom teeth were bothering me. He decided I needed an impromptu root canal on both teeth. I have since returned for a teeth cleaning and informed him my teeth were still bothering me and his response was maybe the root canal didn’t work? I have since seen another dentist, who sent me to a endodontist who says the root canals were done improperly. I don’t have a final cost yet, but just my time alone has been significant dealing with this issue along with the continued discomfort.

My experience was great until I had a run in with the office manager, apparently not properly trained in customer service. Her idea of professionalism consisted of talking over me, showing no empathy, and even gloating over her "being right" (she was wrong). She didn't listen or acknowledge that my husband could be covered as before, as the insurance company reps said a revised account often doesn't show up in the data base right away (upon my retirement, we changed to a COBRA). She refused to make a future appointment to allow time for the issue to resolve. She called again the next day, gloating once more, declaring he still "wasn't covered". Why didn't she have someone else call, knowing that there was tension between us? Because they would have found out that I am not difficult when treated respectfully, and/or it gave her another chance to gloat and assert her authority. (It later it turned out my husband's name had been entered incorrectly into the data base). I was okay with office policy of cancelling an appointment when coverage is not proven to their satisfaction, but the lack of empathy, the consistent talking over me, and the refusal to make a future appointment triggered me. I confronted her on how rude she was, she played the victim, and my husband and I were booted from the practice. I guess I am used to being treated with respect and it threw me for a loop. Thankfully, I am very happy with my current dental provider.

I was a patient of Dr. Nielsen for a while until he kicked me out without warning - I dared to ask for reimbursement of money I paid for, as it turned out, failed procedure. Here what happened. When I scheduled to extract a front tooth, Dr. Nielsen offered me to have prepared for a flipper right after extraction. I agreed. After the tooth was extracted Dr. Nielsen came up with an idea to replace a traditional flipper with, as he put it, an experimental, never used before, structure which consisted of my extracted tooth attached to a piece of thick wire. That wire then was coarsely glued (as I found later) to the adjacent teeth to fill the gap. I could not assess the job done since I was still under anesthesia and did not feel anything. I paid Dr. Nielsen for that “innovative” construction $250. Everything was fine until the next day that happened to be Saturday. As soon as I chewed a piece of cheese the “innovative” structure collapsed. The attached tooth was gone (I could not find it – probably swallowed). I had left with bumps of broken glue, like glass, still attached to my teeth cutting the tongue and thick wire loose on one end piercing my gums. It hurt so much that I could not keep my mouth closed. I had a panic attack and tried to remove the wire. I took me a substantial effort to do that. I came to Dr. Nielsen the following Monday to remove residue of his experiment and asked for reimbursement. Dr. Neilson was furious. He accused me of damaging and then removing the structure. He added that I should have left everything untouched for him to assess the damage and fix it. He did not express any concern about my health even formally. Eventually he realized he had to return the money. I received the check next day with the letter that I was not welcome at his office. I still have that glue infused into my teeth.
