Joshua Krell Guitar Lessons

Josh is a fabulous teacher and a wonderful human. He meets you where you’re at with your guitar playing, and tailors your learning plan specifically to your needs. He’s always willing to let you give input into what you want to learn to play, and his insight into music theory, songwriting, and technique are such valuable assets to any student, regardless of ability. Can’t recommend him enough.

Josh has a refreshing teaching style and is easygoing and quick to adjust to the student’s needs/level. I enjoyed his emphasis on including recording and music production to help train the ear, which I haven’t experienced with anyone else I’ve taken lessons from. I stuck to acoustic but he’s also great for electric instruction as well. 10/10

Josh is great! I know absolutely nothing about music, so I can't validate the accuracy or efficacy of his methods, but he has lots of patience for my 7 yo daughter. Way more than I have in the audience. She is eager to play but not a prodigy and she likes to chit-chat ALOT (in kid language), Josh redirects like pro and is always kind and encouraging. My kid seems to be progressing well and has played 2 songs that I could almost (almost) tell what song it was supposed to be; she's been learning since February.

Joshua has been teaching my 10 year old twins guitar for a little over 2 months. I found him on Lessons.com. They enjoy going each week to learn a new skill. Josh is very knowledgeable and is very patient with them. He is great about communicating with us and always gets back me in a timely manner. He has also been helpful at ensuring that they have proper materials and where I should go to get them what they need. I highly recommend him for lessons for anyone who is looking to play the guitar.

Joshua has been teaching my son for close to 3 months. I've literally waited to write this review, not to speak to soon. But I can't wait anymore to share how awesome Joshua is at teaching guitar! My son is six and a half and he is showing clear progress in his skills through learning from Joshua. Joshua tailored the curriculum for Isaac and have always taken time to talk to us what works well and what can be improved. It's been an absolute valuable 3 months in our guitar learning and we look forward to many more! Thank you Joshua, for your preparedness, presentation and more importantly patience to work with us!

Josh is an excellent instructor. I have been getting electric guitar lessons from him for 4 months with amazing results. I started as an absolute beginner and am very impressed with his teaching philosophy and abilities. I would highly recommend Josh to anyone interested in learning the right way to learn to play no matter your experience level!!

I never had a guitar lesson (or a lesson in any other musical instrument) before calling on Josh. I’ve been working with him once a week for three months now. I’m always very excited for my lessons. Josh makes learning (and practicing) enjoyable. He is very knowledgeable especially when it comes to music theory. The learning pace is comfortable and challenging. He relates well to his students and makes understanding fundamentals easy. I highly recommend Josh to anyone interested in learning to play the guitar.

Working with Josh is so much fun and totally worth the experience. He is a very talented musician and is very good with the production of music as well. He helped me fully flesh out a pop song that I am very happy with. He’s easy to communicate with, and he will always listen to any ideas or suggestions you have for the music. He will always go the extra mile with his projects. You can tell he has a lot of fun with his work, and I think that is part of why it’s so great working with him. I would 100% recommend going with Josh if you have a song you want to sound professional and fully produced. 10/10!

Joshua is a fantastic teacher. My preteen daughter started lessons with him having no knowledge of guitar or much music knowledge in general. He has patiently been working with her for several months now, all via Zoom due to COVID. He walked her through the basics of tuning, restringing, reading music, learning notes on the guitar, etc... all online. She has made a lot of progress in a short amount of time, and continues to love learning. He is an excellent instructor. I highly recommend.

Speaking as a parent of one of Joshua's students- I want to point out several things:

1. Communication has been clear and quick with Joshua so coordinating lessons has been very easy.
2. Joshua offers Zoom lessons making it possible to continue with lessons despite a busy schedule. Added bonus- lessons are affordable.
3. My child is happy with lessons, and he is progressing quickly with his knowledge of guitar- I attribute that to Joshua's teaching techniques and friendly demeanor.

Absolutely thrilled to have Joshua instructing my child and am so thankful that it has worked as well as it has. Thank you Joshua!

Josh has been an amazing guitar teacher for our 11 year old son. He does an excellent job connecting with our son first therefore creating an awesome relationship to then teach him. We have also really appreciated his communication to us as parents. It’s been a wonderful experience on all levels professional and personal for our son!! Highly recommended.

Josh is an excellent instructor. He has a thorough knowledge in music. First lesson he just wanted to know where I wanted to go with guitar and it seems to me he is tailoring my lessons in that direction. Josh has been great in teaching my girls how to not only play guitar but love it! His teaching is geared toward the individual's and helps them to learn the kind of music they enjoy most. He's very patient and talented. He is always positive and happy which makes for a great atmosphere for anyone to learn. I would recommend him to anyone.

I've been taking lessons with Josh for about 4 months now. He's the best music instructor I've had and he moves at a pace tailored to my skills. He believes in teaching guitar theory for a good foundation for beginners. He teaches students of ALL ages and I can see why he has a busy schedule. I look forward to more lessons with Josh.

We’re very fortunate to have found Josh to teach guitar to our 9-yr-old. He’s incredibly patient, kind, and considerate. He ensures our daughter is comfortable and understands material before moving on to something new. He gently encourages her when she struggles and never makes her feel bad for making mistakes. It’s clear he has a lot of experience working with young kids. Many people can play an instrument, but not everyone can *teach* an instrument. Josh can do both very well. Highly recommend.

My six year old son and I started taking guitar lessons from Joshua and my eight year old daughter started ukulele lessons in January. He does an outstanding job keeping things interesting. He’s always very positive and patient. He has excellent musical knowledge and has a great teaching style. He is an outstanding teacher.

Josh has a great style of teaching for beginners. I'm 57 and was questioning learning the guitar. I look forward to my lessons each week, he always has new things in store to challenge yourself. I would highly recommend him for lessons no matter stage you are.

Joshua is an awesome teacher. He has a knack for being able to break down music to manageable pieces and is great at explaining how and why a piece is written and played the way it is.

He also is very knowledgeable when it comes to the form and technique when playing guitar. His knowledge on how to break my bad self taught habits have helped my playing substantially and I can now manage pieces I would’ve stumbled through before.

Would definitely recommend lessons from Joshua for anyone looking to become a better musician.

Josh has an amazing teaching style with kids. He takes the time to ensure my son understands the fundamentals, in addition to learning how to play. When my son becomes confused or has trouble with a piece, Josh patiently works with him rather than pressing him to just move on the next piece. This is our second year with Josh and I highly recommend him!!
