This is the best, hands down, hardware store. They are the only place where you can walk in with a request for a part and they know exactly what you need. I have never found them to be rude or disrespectful. I am dismayed by all of the bad reviews because hardware stores like this are a rare find. My parents and I have depended on their expertise for over 50 years.

I'm so glad to see that you guys are still open. This is the best hardware store around they have everything you could imagine for homes in this area and probably for the surrounding areas as well. Parts that you won't find at any Home Depot or Lowe's guaranteed and prices are more than reasonable. You guys have been around since I was a kid as far back as I can remember your store has been here and there's good reason for that. For those of you reading the reviews ignore any bad reviews whatever you need they'll have it and the service is on a personal level.

Not too many hardware stores around like this anymore. Try to go to home depot and get a plumbing part or advice, you'll end up having to buy a whole new faucet. Been going here for years and while the old owner was somewhat of a curmudgeon, the staff lately has been more than helpful/friendly. Of course you are going to pay more than you would at home depot but you get what you pay for and you are paying for expertise and inventory. I know it's painful to pay more but I do so because I think the advice and convenience is worth it.

Such a great experience. I needed a new glass cut for my basement window. I am so glad that my Google search led me to this business. Personal and knowledgeable attention. If you need plumbing parts or any other hardware supply...this is the place to go

I don't understand the negative reviews. This place saved my neck by having a gas regulator for a stove from 1991 IN STOCK ON A SUNDAY. How can you beat that? Yeah they might be a little pricey but no one in the tri-state can compleat with the odds and ends and unique stuff they have available unless you order online and have time to wait. The guy over the phone could have been more helpful but when I dragged the part in to show them they had the EXACT OEM replacement. You guys helped me get my gas service turned back on. Thanks!

I’m reading a lot of comments about the staff being rude. I have to admit when I first went there I was really taken by how frosty everyone was. But they have a lot of unusual things that you can’t find elsewhere so I’d return often. I just came to the conclusion they’re just no-nonsense people, strictly business. It would be nice if they smiled once in a while but I’ve never actually heard them insult anyone or speak improperly. They probably hear a lot of “I can get this cheaper at Home Depot or Lowe’s” and they’re probably just sick of it and as a result are just very stoic in their approach. I can live with that. And yes, their prices aren’t cheap but they have the largest selection of drawer, door, and postal hardware I’ve ever seen.

Great service and items for sale. I when in to buy 4 shower valves for my old shower. The big name stores and other plumbing supply stores didn't have them neither. They recommend this hardware store have them. 100%+ satisfied. Have a new customer for life.

Wow - a few people with high sodium intake decided to leave 1 star reviews. I've lived in this neighborhood for 25 years and seen how things have changed for better and worse. The service at this store just keeps getting better. They also have parts you need for your home because they stock what these houses used when they were built.
It's so refreshing to see young faces in this store walking up to you to ask you if you need help - and the shocker is when you tell them what you need and they know exactly what you're talking about.

This is one of the last ma & pa hardware stores around so I try to get whatever I can here. Every time I enter the store I’m almost automatically greeted by an employee asking me if I need any help. You won’t get that at Home Depot. Sure, their prices might be a wee bit higher than the big chain stores but that’s the only way they’re going to survive.

They have it all, especially hard to find items. I need a security door replacement handle set. The were expecting some to come in but the gentleman was able to perform a repair on the original. The price was reasonable and he was very knowledgeable.

I was in the S&H Hardware in Huntingdon Valley. I want to say that I had a great experience compared to other stores like this. As soon as I came in the store a staff member was there to attend to me. He was so helpful to me and helped me pick colors and combinations. He was so patient and helpful because I am not knowledgeable regarding these types of hardware purchases. Vanities and faucets and such. Anyway all I really want to say is that I was treated very fair. My product came in on time and I was pleased with everything. You guys have a customer for life. BTW my contractor wanted to know where I purchased from because he said he has never seen such nice quality of product.

It's an old fashioned treasure trove, that doesn't mean anything less than spectacular. Sometimes the big box chain giants cannot provide you the exotic parts/hardware you need or the cosy feelings of the bygone mom and pop stores around the corner, but this store can do all of the stuff. Don't be misled by the small but well packed front, the real mystery is the back storage where the employees will occasionally disappear to fetch more uncommon goodies and then mysteriously reappear with the magical hard to find items. They offer a lot of services besides being a repository of tools and merchandise.

Wonderful place and people. You will always find everything there at very decent prices. Alas, outside the store we saw signs stating that they are going out of business. Such a loss but, yet again, a sign that times are changing ....

Visited on 3/3/18. After trying home Depot and Lowe's, and not finding what I needed, I called here and asked. They had it! (Flapper system "touch flush", for an older eljer toilet) Not only are they very nice, but also very knowledgeable! Plus have EVERYTHING! lol. I will definitely come back and will recommend the store! Thanks again!

I had an awesome experience (which is really hard for me to say about anything) - and the staff was more than I expected! I took photos and posted on Facebook - with comments. I've recommended S&H to several folks in Philadelphia and will shop and order again from them - shortly.

Quaint hardware store, check here first before going to bigger retailers as they appear to be fully stocked with plumbing products. Lowe's did not carry the tub stem i needed and the salesman at Lowe's referred me to this hardware store and he was right they had it .

Needed a hard to find part for my heater furnace on a Sunday and without any HVCA suppliers open, I was out of luck. S&H asked me my heater make and model, the part I needed and 5 minutes later I had a call back saying the part was in stock. Everyone in the store was ready to help when I showed up and now an hour later I'm home with a working heater. Thanks guys!!

I have lived in the area for over 15 years and this place is a great store. Helpful, always have what you need. Especially the hard to find items the large chains don’t have. Even specialty items. Always friendly and helpful service. I will continue to use as my go to store.

I have never had a bad experience here -- from my very first visit to my many returns. Amazing help (they really are experts on what they sell), and I find things at S&H that I couldn't ever get anywhere else!

this place has been here for many many years, they have so much stuff in stock and so many varieties to choose from, it is amazing to see. things you couldn't find at your big commercial store, they would have it. great service as always and people working behind the counter are very knowledgeable.
