I feel that jitterbugs has met my needs of my children and have been very flexible with me in the care of my children. At the beginning my job was not so flexible but as I work towards becoming more stable at my job site, jitterbug was very patient and understanding with both myself in my child. My children loved all the employees and I have never personally met the owner but the employees are great. They have improved the pass years my children have attended. I am a single mother and I give a 5 star for my children's care at jitterbug child care.

First, this place is NOT dirty. The building is older, but in good repair, and it doesn't have that institutional hospital-like feel that the corporate childcare centers have (like Kindercare). Some people might compare the two, but this place has a much homier feel. The staff are friendly, and the number one reason I have to rate 5 stars is my kids. They love this daycare, and had all sorts of behavioral issues that would pop up at my other ones. The staff at Kindercare would give me incident reports all the time, because they don't step in when my kid is getting bullied, but they will write him up when he pushes the kid who is bullying him. Meanwhile, at Jitterbug the staff actually care. They pay attention and don't tolerate bullying. They use redirection and are great at navigating difficult childhood behavior, so no kid has to feel unsafe. I listen to how my kids feel, and when they remember this place after we moved out of the area for a year, and still prefer it to the Bellevue childcare center they've been attending, I have to listen to their reasoning. Don't judge Jitterbug because it's an older building, or because the staff have varied personalities (rather than the stereotyped caregiver's you find at the corporate childcare centers). It's a great place, with great people, and they see your kids as individual humans rather than little robots that should stand in line and all act the same.

The staff are great and create so many amazing activities for the kids! We've taken our son here for almost 4 years and haven't regretted it once. They keep the kids engaged and teach them. I've recommended Jitterbug to many others and will continue to do so.

My kids LOVE Jitterbug & will miss it a lot. The staff are great with exceptional kids (autistic, ADHD, etc.) and really care about the kids. They work in a rough area, a rough part of town, the schools nearby are rough schools, lot of just hard stuff and these staff really reach out to the community and truly care. My kids did not feel accepted or safe at school but felt accepted, safe & secure at Jitterbug. Where teachers wrongly punished my kids for sensory overwhelm/sensory processing disorders, autistic stimming and communication struggles, etc., Jitterbug staff responded with compassion and more appropriately such as offering noise reducing headphones, quiet space (but NOT isolation or restraints), etc. They supervise & don't let kids hurt one another. They are constantly doing educational hands-on activity options from science stuff like electricity kits and baking soda volcanos to mini-cooking lessons. My kids are really going to miss Ms. Yvette, Mr. T (Rozelle), Mr. Teddy and the other Jitterbug teachers. Love, love, love Jitterbug. Would not have been able to work if it wasn't for them. I really would like to see the community follow their lead and pedagogy. There is too much overly harsh discipline, power trips, control, etc., in the local schools there, whereas Jitterbug is a more positive home-like place kids feel safe at. They have mentorship for young people who want to go into early learning ed and they have young male teachers too that really provide positive male role models for many kids who are fatherless/have no male role models. They have a huge heart for working families and I'd just really like to see them stick around and continue to do all they're doing. We really need more good people here like them. Highly recommend Jitterbug.

They were always great to my kids. They were usually upset to leave when I came to pick them up. Highly recommended.

Jitterbug seems to have an unwarranted negative image. Yes the building owner could step up and improve the property, the first impression isn't the greatest, but that is no reflection of the staff who work there. The staff are great, they are professional, caring people who take pride in providing a safe, happy, learning environment. In my opinion, anyone anyone who says differently have some personal axe to grind.

I never write reviews online but what i have to say has to be heard by other parents considering this center... This childcare center is not the best choice in the area.. The first thing i noticed right when i pulled up is that an apartment complex shares a fence with the play area! So the apartment windows look directly into the play area! How creepy! Second there were not enough teachers per children as required by washington state guidelines. I know this because I previously worked in the childcare feild for 5 years. Third inside is messy and the floor is nasty all of the toys r old outdated and DIRTY! There are broken toys outside in the corner of the play area with grass growing threw them... And last but not at all least... I called to inquire about rates and a tour and i was quoted one price for preschool then after I completed my tour of the facility I was then told it would be 200 dollars more then I was quoted... Making this center more expensive then mini school and the lacey learning center which are way cleaner and dont have apartment windows over there play area!

Terrible daycare center. The place is dirty, the prices are too expensive, the kids are violent, and they curse at the kids.

I placed my son in this daycare because I needed child care and I needed it fast. Unfortunately my son wasn't even in this facility for a full 6 days before I pulled him out. I rooms are dirty, the building is falling apart and the afternoon staff is the most unprofessional child care staff I've ever seen. Management is just as bad. I felt extremely judged due to not being military. When I told management I didn't want to work on base because the military route was not for me, she looked at me with a disgruntled (since you guys like to use that word so much) look on her face and continued to question me on why. The owner also has a history in the dental field and proceeded to tell me that she has the ability to diagnose children with behavioral issues. You're not a doctor. Take a seat. When my son got an incident report, of course I asked the staff about it. The response I got was "I don't know, I wasn't there". I let them know that my son had a doctor's appointment (as requested for immunization records) in the morning and that he would be coming in late. The minute I walked him in the door, I got scolded with a "you're late! You're not allowed to bring them in after 9am" and this made me feel extremely unwelcome. Today I got a phone call from the owner and the first the she said was "ima need you to come get your kid" he had a melt down unlike any other I've seen my son have before. Hyperventilating and unable to calm down. My son is a very healthy kid with no behavioral issues and a clean bill of health as of 2 days ago. You say that every single one of your employees has a degree in child care but they can't calm down a 5 year old? To the point that I actually needed to leave work and come get him. My son is a very well behaved kid. Has some emotional struggles with transition because we just made a 300 mile move and have both completely changed our lives. I was told that he would be handled with care because transition periods are very hard on children. I did not feel like my son was treated well at all. The only thing the staff did about it when I spoke to them about my son having a hard time with the transition was point fingers at other staff... point blank, the management is rude and I have never felt the need to immediately remove my son from a daycare. But don't look too much into my review... I'm just a disgruntled parent...smh...

just think you guys should know that they hire all sorts of unqualified people, including 15 year old kids and pay them under the table. childcare can be a struggle but this place is sketchy, really sketchy. Would not recommend.
