I would give this daycare 5 stars for their work. All my children have grown up in this daycare and I have had very few issues or concerns with how they run or take care of kiddos. They have many activities that they do, along with parties and arts and crafts. I have never had an issue with this daycare and communication, and I have always viewed them as fully transparent. My children love all the workers and have developed loving relationships with them all. Each employee taking care of my kids as if they were their own. I love how this daycare prepares the littles for the transition to school age instead of just being a location that just hangs out all day, made it very easy for my kids to feel comfortable in taking that big step with confidence to kindergarten. I absolutely trust this location and will be very sad when all my kids can no longer attend. I would highly recommend this daycare to anyone.

First Steps is a great preschool! I love that small family feel and I appreciate the routine that they get the kids on. They’re great at communicating when anything happens with my son and another kid and they are always willing to listen when I want to talk to them about any concerns. I love that they encourage the kids to learn through play and really allow them to use their imaginations and explore. I really love all the songs they sing with the kids. My son really enjoys singing and through songs he has developed a larger vocabulary. Thanks guys! You’re great!

By children and my grandchildren have gone to First Steps . It’s a family setting where kids get to experience many age appropriate activities hands on and having fun. Much of the staff have been there many years , which makes it nice as they all had same teachers. They have gone on field trips , had special visitors , like Santa and in October the fire truck comes to teach fire safety . In summer there is lots of fun out door play as well as in the winter when weather permits. During their time there we have seen many children and then their siblings come .I personally feel pretty lucky that my kids have gotten to be in a place that made me feel they were safe and happy .

My son has been at First Steps since he was 6 weeks old. All the staff is wonderful and we love them!!! I would recommend them to anyone!!!

My son attended First Steps from 6 months old to right before kindergarten. His teachers did not just care for my son, teach him and nurture him. They loved him! I could not have asked for a better place for my son to be while I was at work. I highly recommend First Steps to every mother and father.

The long term staff members are amazing!
This center provides high quality child care and learning that many centers I have been too do not! They make you feel like family and treat the children their as their own! I love how they connect with their community!

My 2 and a half year old daughter goes here and has been here for over year. This daycare has been so amazing. My daughter gets so excited every morning to see her teacher. It's just like a home daycare but it's not. The classroom sizes aren't too big which means my daughter gets a lot of one on one attention. Our old daycare had way too many kids in a classroom bit this one doesn't. The teachers do so many activities with the kids and the kids get to play outside alot which I think is important.

I toured five centers before I decided on this center for my son. I have degrees in Early Childhood Education and have worked as a preschool teacher myself. When I walked into this center, I knew that it was where I wanted my son to attend, while I work. They submit waivers for children to remain in rooms or move up rooms, when they are ready, not just due to their birthdate (like most centers). It was apparent to me that this center focuses on the strengths of each child as a individual, not just age and milestone acquisition. If my son met his milestones early, they would work with Department of Early Learning to move him to the next room, or vice versa. Their infant room teacher has been there for twelve years. This is unheard of in this industry. My son loves his teachers and has friends his own age at this center. His teachers support him through the use of art, using sign language and read with him. He is able to complete Baby-Led Weaning, by feeding himself. And, he is given my breastmilk in a bottle, or is spoon-fed. My son is happy when I come to pick him up and I couldn't be happier with our choice to have him attend this center. I love that there are many children in foster care or in adoption support at this center. Often children with state financial support have a hard time finding centers that are high quality and are not cost prohibitive - but this center offers wonderful, caring teachers and curriculum while also being financially fair in cost. This center is diverse, and my son's teachers love my son - the things that truly matter to me.

I have to completely disagree with the review from Paige. My 3 kids have gone to First Steps for 8 years - they are all adopted from foster care and have their individual needs.

Every one of the staff have done nothing but be accommodating and loving towards all of my kids, even still now while only my youngest attends there. The only turn over I have seen in the last 8 years has been part-time staff. It is expected that part-time staff have a bit of turnover in a job such as child care, as it is very wearing. All of the other staff have been there from between 6 - 12 years.

To work that many years for the same center means that the staff is in a good center, and their skills are being utilized appropriately. I have never experienced anything such as Paige mentioned, nor witnessed it. I am not saying it did not happen, but based on the other parts of the review, I would very much say that this would have to be a very isolated incident.

Also, it is important to remember that in a daycare setting, there is never one adult per every infant. Of course there are going to be times when an infant is going to cry for a few minutes if something is being done for another child - such as a diaper change or finishing a feeding.

All of my kids have had nothing but positive experiences at both the infant and older child buildings. The staff there have always done their best to make sure that my kids got what they needed whether it was guidance, education, affection, ect.

Both my older kids received comments upon entering kindergarten that their teacher had not seen a child more ready for school than mine. I am certain that is due to what they learned in pre-school at First Steps. My youngest is about to go in to kindergarden and I expect the same comments for him.

The poor reviews, you guys were planning on leaving before anything happened so stop with the drama. Nothing has ever happened at this center in the 9 years my kids have been attending this center.

My 3 girls have been going to this center for 9 years now, never had any issues. The teachers stay a long time and very little turn over except for the college students which is understandable. I know first hand how they are spoken to at nap time, it's not rude or belittling they are spoken to in a stearn tone. This is a very loving environment and a second family for my children. My girls will continue to go here until they are too old. We love both centers!

Kind, caring and professional staff!

Giving 3 stars because we loved Theresa in the baby room. Minus 1 star because they took on a 5th baby at one point without having a 2nd afternoon person. They would put a baby in a high chair between the infant and wobbler classrooms to "fix" the ratio. Minus another star because they went back to their covid policy of requiring covid tests every time a kiddo has a runny nose OR a cough, even without a fever or fussiness. Since my baby gets heavy congestion with teething this didn't work for us. This is not stated in their handbook.

I honestly do not advise anyone to take their child to this daycare. My son was there for less then a month before I took him out, and once I did I walked in one day to see a woman rudely telling my 2 year old to "be quiet, roll over and go to sleep" because he was making noises since he saw me walk in the door. Please note she did not see me and another worker had to say "hey his mom is behind you". The daycare also holds garage sales in the yard of the daycare on the playground. So random strangers are allowed to come onto the property on the weekends, dropping who knows what into the wood chips on the playground.

I will never let anyone i know take there baby there. They run through staff like crazy my son went there for three month they had several new people. I had asked where one of the new employees was because she had only been working there a week and I actually liked her when a young lady told me quit because she couldn't stand not being able to pick up the baby's when they are crying i was pissed and I never brought my son back... How do you not pick up a crying baby then it made sence why they go through so many people you have to be a horrible person to have a job at a daycare and not comfort a crying baby!!!!!!

Horrible place. The negative reviews are not lies at all. Please stop trying to cover for this daycare center, it needs to be shut down. You should never leave young children alone by themselves in the back playground area without supervision. Standing behind the door that is also a window does not count as supervision.
