I recommend Room Doctor if you want a product that is beautiful, very well crafted and fairly priced. I ordered a twin size lounger futon frame and mattress. I was able to assemble the futon frame, which came in 5 pieces, by myself in a couple of hours. The instructions for assembling are clear. The assembled futon frame is nothing short of disappointing. It is lovely and sturdy. The wood is Southern yellow pine. Once assembled, this futon frame can be converted to a lounge or bed.

I searched the internet but there are not many that make the type of frame I was looking for. When I researched room doctor and read customer reviews (google, etc), I focused on the customer comments which discussed the beautiful craftsmanship of projects that were delivered. When I decided to place the order with Room Doctor I spoke with Carol, who is wonderful. She is knowledgeable and described the futon frame and designs.

If you are considering a piece of furniture from the Room Doctor, please communicate with Carol or Tom on your needs and when you need the item. They will work with you and keep you informed in case of delays as Carol did with me. Honest and talented artisans like Tom at Room Doctor do not come by easily and I am grateful I found them. We ordered a loft bed when I was about 6 months pregnant with our third child. We needed the bed before the baby came, but room doctor was running much longer to fulfill orders. They worked with us to get it before our child was born and the finished product is perfect. It was easy to assemble, is sturdy, and looks great. Carol and Tom were really helpful. Really happy with our experience!

I would give 4.5 stars because the shipping time estimate wasn’t accurate but the quality of the bed frame is 5 out of 5 stars. My hubby worked in carpentry for few years and can tell when another carpenter has skill and takes care in their work. I would call and check in near the end of the estimated date of finish of product. My son really enjoys his big boy bed! Big plus it isn’t riddled with chemicals too!

I first purchased the Mission Futon Frame back in 2012 while in school. The frame is made of unfinished wood so you can stain it how you like or keep it natural for a more rustic look. It has served well as a sofa and bed when needed. The futon has survived multiple moves around the country. It is constructed very well and is super sturdy, During my last move, I lost the hardware and directions needed to assemble the futon. I called the company to discuss my issue and the customer service was excellent. The gentleman I spoke with was super friendly and understanding. They sent me the necessary bolts and pins needed to assemble the futon. I recommend this company if you are looking for a great product!

Just picked up our loft bed and futon over the weekend after a very long wait due to Covid-19. All I can say is it was well worth the wait. John and Carol could not have been nicer throughout the entire process. I have seen a lot of negative post about the time it takes to get the order. If you don't want to wait go to IKEA or some store. The quality is amazing and so is the customer service. Any time I called for an update I was able to talk to either Carol or John. Just like anything if you have patience it is well worth it.

Well worth the wait!! Ordered a twin over futon bunk bed from Room Doctor in August and waited longer then originally told but it was definitely worth the wait. The bed is well constructed and very sturdy and my daughter absolutely loves it. Tom and Carol are also great people to deal with. Very helpful and friendly. Will recommend to all

Ordered an oak platform bed frame and couldn’t love it more. Feels literally uplifting, as it sits higher than your average bed. And you can feel the strength and support of the oak. If you’re looking for something high quality, handcrafted, nontoxic, affordable, and beautiful, this is it. The linseed oil stain is gorgeous and there is not an ounce of plastic anywhere in the setup—we’re talking just oak boards, natural stain, and steel screws. Very easy to set up too. It took awhile to ship, but craftsmanship is worth the wait, family businesses are precious, and Tom’s communications are excellent. Highly recommended.

SO IMPRESSED with the personal attention on a recent order! Every company is struggling through this COVID-19 crisis (e.g. supplies, inventory, etc). But the owners over-communicated and helped ensure that I would receive one of their products I needed prior to a key date. Sincerely appreciate their personal attention and help making/shipping in time.

I purchased a great futon bed for my son's fraternity house room at Penn State. It has a cover that is washable and looks terrific, even after one year of heavy use. Great well-made product!

Very nice and knowledgeable folks to deal with and the furniture is top notch.

Just received the Queen Oak platform bed with extra slats upgrade and linseed oil. About 450$ with shipping and slats factored in and took about two months with a couple follow up calls/emails. They are very friendly and I never had any trouble getting in touch with them. They have a few bad reviews due to the wait time but to be fair they are upfront about it when you first order. Bed is solid wood and has that oaky smell to it.. looks better in person in my opinion than what I saw on the website. Setup is pretty easy.

Only negative is long wait time requiring you to follow up on it and given the wait time I think they shouldn't require such a large deposit upfront.

Definitely seems like a small family business run by mother and son so just keep that in mind when ordering..but you I think the value is great.

High quality bunk ladders. Easy to assemble. I had originally given less stars since it took so long to get (said 3 weeks, took almost 6), but they ended up shipping them overnight so I'd received them in time to use for our out of town guests. I appreciated the willingness to get them to us and I was impressed with the quality.

The bed is beautiful and we absolutely love it. It smells like fresh solid wood with no chemical smell in it. The wait was very long and frustrating but if you don’t mind waiting 1,5 months or maybe more then this is totally worth it.

Nice people. I would just suggest they over promise and under deliver. Tell customers it will take 2 months and deliver in 6 weeks vs. telling them it will take 3 weeks and deliver in almost 6 weeks. My product is due to arrive tomorrow. I hope it's awesome and I can move my 3 star to a 5 star.
