Stopped in for some celtic music on a beautiful afternoon. I liked the variety of herbs in the garden, and how it was laid out. The pond was nicely tucked in there too, but everything was a bit dry around the garden (like most places around here right now). We really enjoyed walking around, enjoying the smells, and listening to the bands play. The volunteers were friendly and even sold us on upcoming events. Overall loved the place, the staff, the atmosphere, and the bands that played

This is a great visit! It’s a bit remote, but great views and nice to tour the mansion.

There are many great events held by the mansion. We enjoy hiking all the different trails at King's Gap. The mansion itself has rentable rooms and amazing views. The Environment education building has great staff that host many programs.

It was beautiful. The views from the mansion balcony are stunning! We definetly plan to go back and tour once the mansion opens. They have some of everything, flowers, herb 🌿 gardens, and walking trails. Dogs are allowed as long as they are leashed and you must clean up after them. They also have some concerts and a host of activities planned for the summer that seem exciting and are for every member of your family.

Update. It's a perfect place for bird watching on a rainy day, hikes in the woods, and just being out in nature to de-stress. Staff is extremely friendly, caring, and answers all questions. Great place to learn about nature.

Great place for everyone. Great place to go walking/hiking to get out in nature.

Beautiful park with hiking trails, an environmental center, picnic tables and excellent view from the back of the mansion.

The view is much better at a pull off area along the road than from the mansion balcony anymore with the sad spread of development in Cumberland County. (1970's it was more rural). Photo 1 is solid wilderness 2 & 3 are from the balcony.

.

Bring the kids when all the buildings are open for the full effect. There is an environmental learning center, gardens, pond, trails, and historical buildings.
Other times just hike the trails at the beginning of the park road. Save yourself the seemingly endless ride to the education center site.
Note: Bring bug spray and cover up. Gnats were everywhere during my June visit.

What a gem of a park! Just beautiful! Very quiet and peaceful. I would consider this park for mostly just hiking, but they do have a few picnic tables for you to relax at. Also, an incredible old partially restored mansion with a breathtaking view of the valley below. The mansion is owned by the park service, and is available for tours and overnight stays during certain times of the year.

Wonderful place to have your wedding, and you can rent rooms in the mansion.

Sandy was awesome to work with. She answered all of our questions quickly and courteously (we had a lot) and went out of her way to make sure everything went well for us. The park ranger was awesome too, and she gave me a hug that I'll never forget when I was really nervous. The rooms were luxurious, and they made us an amazing breakfast that morning.

Beautiful place! Conveniently located to I-81 and Carlisle. Lots of great hiking trails - from easy to moderate difficulty - and an historic mountain top mansion. AND scenic views!

It was a beautiful ride into the area on our motorcycles. The view from the mansion porch was spectacular and the garden was beautiful to explore.

Lovely spot to explore in the woods. Gorgeous views from the top at the mansion. The mansion also has a large garden with labeled plants that is a joy to walk around. The educational center has a nature trail meandering through the woods that is perfect for kids. Beyond that, many trails of varying difficulty to offer lots of fun for hikers.

Worth a stop for the view! Mansion tours were going on when we stopped (Sunday 12-4). The garden is beautiful when the flowers are blooming. A great picnic spot!

Lots of interesting history and nice hiking. There are open houses to tour the mansion, but otherwise it's not open for walk-in tours. There's also a geocache....

Nice place to visit if you are in the Cumberland County area! There are often family friendly events throughout the year. The mansion is often open for tours and even if not open the large back deck is a nice place to view the valley. Also great place to go hiking or walking with dogs. In September there is a dog event I want to attend called K9's at Kings Gap.
