Upper Darby Hardware Do It Best

To start- I live in west philly. I drive to this hardware store because they are so sweet and accommodating every time I go. They try to speak to people who only speak Spanish in Spanish. Just all around great hardware store that reminds me of the right small town feel. I order my HVAC filters here, I get my plumbing supplies here. Support small hardware stores!!!!!

These guys are awesome. You're always greeted with a friendly smile. They shook my paint cans from the competition for free. Their prices are about the same. And they give military discount. Always a nice place to go.

This is hands down a treasure in Upper Darby. I've been going to this hardware store almost every day for the past few weeks, working on a big masonry repair project with my dad. We are total DIYers but all the staff members and FAQ guy (Dr. Rich, I believe) have patiently guided us through the process. I would sometimes just take a walk there (it's only 5 mins from where I live) to buy sanding sponge or a drop cloth, because I love the atmosphere in the store. It's always packed and no matter how buy it is, they're courteous and super friendly (and you can tell they love what they do!). Do check them out and talk to them about your project!

I'm new to the area and I've only been to the Upper Darby Hardware store a handful of times. Each visit has been due to a minor emergency and I have found the staff to be helpful and very pleasant. The prices were also within reason and I was able to find the right parts needed to make my dilemmas go away with as little trouble as possible and in a timely manner without the aggravation of a lot of traveling back and forth (to & from HD or that other place). Thank you Upper Darby Hardware. Ace is the Place!

The staff here were so friendly and helpful. They knew where items were and I didn't have to spend endless time searching the aisles for what I needed. I may never go to a Lowe's or Home Depot again!!

Incredibly well run small hardware store. Well stocked, reasonable prices, exceptional staff. They offer great advice and I always left with what I needed. If 6 out of 5 stars was an option, I'd give it 6.

Best Customer service, friendly and COVID-19 prepared! The big stores are missing the down to earth, atmosphere provided by this hardware store! Got my car key cut.

To me that’s Superb Customer service*

The people who own the place live locally and know the construction details of all the houses in the area. They can set you up with almost anything you need, even the hard to find stuff like 1920's 2" actual oak floor boards.

An update (5 August 2018). I needed to replace my water heater and True Value had ordered a bunch extra before the Trump tariffs went into effect. So, they carried a 40 gallon short, 34,000 BTU 6 year water heater for $419 with $10 delivery; $454 with tax. Compared to Home Depot for the same specs, $439 with $80 dollar delivery, total $555 with tax. Saved $100.

Many characters working here. Very knowledgeable and will go out of their way to help. Selection is surprising considering the size of the store.
