Amazing department with a hard working crew. Seeing a group of our own community members work hard to protect the community and the people they love is truly one of the greater blessing of Selah. These men and women not only work hard to ensure professionalism and fast response times. But also work to have a positive impact on the community during parades and other community activities. Great department, Amazing people.

Our Selah Fire Department is the best! It is awesome they want to continue the fire prevention program and work so closely with our youngsters. I've seen them at work and they give 100%+ to everything they do. "Some people" post negative reviews because they are negative people and feel the need to put blame on others when, in fact, there are no grounds to their accusations ... just take them with a grain of salt and pat yourselves on the back, Selah Fire Department!!!

Best fire departments in Yakima Valley are West Valley and Gleed. Selah is a good old Boys network full of small town politics and nepotism. Many firefighters have come and left in search of better opportunities such as tricities fire. The large group of volunteers exist to support the cult of officers at the top who all make 50k a year living wage and the chief makes 100k.
I worked for Selah fire for five years and all I got was a back injury. I tried to get Selah fire to pay for my CT exam to diagnose my back issue they refused to have their insurance cover it. Now Astria is sending me to collections for 5 thousand dollars. I am currently unemployed due to the back injury I got at a structure fire and I don't have health insurance. Because of Selah fire I don't know how I will pay my medical bills. 5 Years of service and all I get in thanks is a 5 thousand dollar medical bill.
