Benedetto Anthony V DO

My family and I have been a patients of Dr. Anthony Benedetto’s since 2004.
I made three appointments with his Drexel Hill Office on 2/21/24 at 2:03pm for myself at 2:00 pm on 2/23/24, my mother 2:30 on 4/23/24 and my daughter 3:00 on 4/23/24. I provided each of our health insurance information at the time of scheduling our appointments.
We left our home at 12:30pm in Roxborough Pa. We arrived at his office at 1:36pm. We signed in and were told to be seated. At 2:00pm they called me up and said they only had room for one (1) of us as they were overbooked.
I’ve had skin cancer several times (an other cancers). This was my check up. I also found two lumps under my skin to be checked. My daughter has been suffering with a wretched rash that itches and bleeds and my 82 year old mother is having sever issues with her skin being so thin, it just opens and bleeds. She is on blood thinners and is not supposed to bleed.
I am disabled, and when I scheduled the appointments, I SPECIFICALLY told the receptionist I cannot sit for extended periods of time.
As we sat in the waiting room, we discovered that 6 other patients had 2:00 appointments.
As we sat there waiting our turn, they waited on 13 patients whose appointment times were all later than ours.
By 5:15 none of the three of us (me, mom & daughter) were seen. At 5:30pm my mother became angry because we had wasted, a combined total of, 15 HOURS!!!!
We were told by another patient that Dr. Ernest Benedetto retired unexpectedly. This makes this practice, under Dr. Anthony Benedetto, a SOLO PRACTICE!
Why would you schedule 15-18 people for the same time slots when you are only one (1) physician.
At 6:00pm we were told by Dr. Anthony Benedetto that we wouldn’t be seen for at least an hour, IF AT ALL⁉
Because I sat so long, when I stood to leave, I collapsed twice. It took my caretaker, a nurse, my elderly mother and another patient to basically carry me to my car.
It would have been completely understandable if God Forbid, they lost a patient.
It is a dermatology office. No one died.
The policies of this office are rude, unprofessional and, for me, it was medically abusive for my condition.
I intend to post this on all my social media outlets where I have an audience of over 15,000 people.
We waited 8 weeks for the appointments. We waited 12 hours in the office today. Not to mention gas, travel time and now having not even been seen by a doctor.
Dr. Benedetto, retire already.
At 76, you are no longer sufficiently physically competent to be a sole practitioner.
Time to hang it up.
My review is zero stars. Find another dermatologist!.
