Love love love this cheese shop. The propieter Bill takes you on a cheese discovery. He allows you to try before you buy and gives you suggestions and flavor profiles. He offers one of the most diverse cheese selections I've experienced. The man knows cheese.

Finding this Shoppe was like finding a true diamond in the rough. It's an experience. You travel in place. The moment you walk up to the door you feel you are already heading into something amazing with the beautiful landscaping and flowers. Once you step in, you realize it's truly authentic. I enjoyed pleasant conversations with other customers who were excited to tell me about how good the cheese is and I sampled a piece myself. Then I experienced a surprising journey around the world of cheeses! Absolutely sensational! I wish I didn't live so far away but I'm so glad we drove past it and then circled back on our way home! I learned a lot and I brought home some delicious cheeses that I'm still enjoying!! If I'm ever in the area again, I'm definitely going back.

Owner very knowledgeable. Let us have samples. Very good cheeses. Very good conversation. Learned a lot and I even got a cheese and I'm not a cheese person. Will definitely be going back.

What a great place to go and learn about the history and making of cheeses. Was even able taste a couple and found one we like. It's a must stop especially if visiting, a part of the history and city in Gap, PA. Friendly and knowledgeable.

Who knew Gouda can come from multiple animals and in mild, medium or sharp? The gentleman who runs this cheese shop! Fifth generation owner and very knowledgeable. Worth the stop.

Quaint little cheese shop in Gap, Pa. Wasnt sure what to expect but the 2 people working were friendly and helpful. Excited to use the cheese in our dinner tomorrow night. And as an added plus they have the "well done/dark" hard pretzels!

This place is awesome. Its 1 hour away from me, and the trip is well worth it. Staff is friendly and made me feel at home. If your looking for an awesome cheese shop, this the place. They will not hesitate to let you try before you buy. With the price of cheese, this is the biggest reason to shop at a place like this.

Bill, a third generation cheese merchant, is as knowledgeable about cheese as about the rich history of Gap-in-the-Hills, now called Gap. A real old-time shop, steeped in history, with old pictures telling a story of how Bill's dad and his dad did business way back!

Here are two conversation starters: Bill, tell me about "gras" kaas from Holland and "Bill, tell me about the history of the town clock. Was it really hidden in a cave?"

We had the best experience here! Bill is extraordinarily knowledgeable and is happy to talk to you through the different types of cheeses as well as the aging processes of each type of cheese. He will make the tasting process fun and exciting! I cannot recommend this shoppe enough, we had the most spectacular experience here!

This place was fun and delicious. We got a selection of local cheeses and one odd cheese that wasn't local. It was a caramelized goat cheese and it looked like a brick of caramel. Not too sweet and a little strange but kind of tasty. We got an extra sharp goat cheese that was stunning!

He also sells cheese accompaniments and Hammond's pretzels which we got. He sells both regular and slightly burned pretzels because he likes those the best.

We actually ate our cheese on the pretzels.

I love the decor with all the old cheese memorabilia. It's kind of like going to a cheese museum. The gentleman who runs the store was very knowledgeable and they have cheese tastings when we're not in a pandemic where you can bring in your own booze and he will pair it with cheeses for your group. I'd love to try that when I'm back in the area.

Amazing little cheese shop!. Worth the trip out to visit. Cheeses from around the world some finished off in the shop. If your nice and ask, you can sample the cheeses. They also have great homemade pretzels from a local maker and lots of choices of cracker. Very knowledgeable about the cheeses and can find you something you will enjoy.

This place is a fantastic small business. The gentleman behind the counter is extremely knowledgeable and will even help pair cheeses with your favorite wine or food. Will also offer some samples of some cheeses prior to purchase. Great personality and experience that you can only get from a small business.

What a gem of a little place! Excellent and friendly customer service. Unique selection of local, regional and international cheeses. Felt like visiting friends. The in and out can be a bit tricky; just pay attention. Decent amount of parking. Restroom use for customers. Be sure to check out the historic Gap Clock, grab some Braddy Boyz flavored pretzels, try Shenk's Cup Cheese ... and let the owner surprise you with a cheese selection.

This place is truly amazing. I don’t think I’ve ever met someone so passionate about cheese. It was truly a wonderful experience to see someone live out their passion and excitement. The selection was incredible. Bill was so great about suggesting different cheeses to try. There is literally nothing I could say about this place to express how amazing it is. Hands down the best cheese shop I’ve ever been to. 10/10 recommend.

Love this cheese shop, owned by an eccentric cheese lover. I have always had a great experience here. The hours are odd, so call ahead to make sure they're open. The cheese's I've been exposed to at my multiple visits have all been amazing. My go-to is the Monte Amore, but love any liqueur-infused cheddar as well. The prices are fair, and the shop also has soft spreading cheese and an assortment of crackers and such. The shop is small and quaint, and a great stop anytime you're in Gap!
