This store sets the bar high for other fly shops. You could not ask for a better looking store and location, to be able to go from buying products and out the door fishing instantly is just one of the reasons it does so well. The staff is the cherry on top, whether you’re there for knowledge or just talk shop they are excellent.

Had a 4-hour "refresher" custom lesson with Dan. I could not speak more highly of the entire product and service they offer. After not having fly-fished for 30 years, Dan got me up to date with some new equipment (my old stuff is going in their museum), some new ways to tie tippets to leaders, etc.......

In 3 hours on the river we netted over 12 nice trout and missed more hits than I want to admit (but that's why I was there).

Learned more than I was looking for and am very happy with the instruction and expertise. They have everything you need and the advice is practical and phenomenal.

If you're looking for a teacher or a guide, give them a call and ask for Dan!

The salesman was friendly and a great help. Knew what he was talking about. He didn't push any upsell or gadgets that aren't needed. The shop is well stocked with gear including an impressive selection of organization gear.

Well-stocked fly shop. Owner is super friendly and always willing to help. They run fly fishing classes to help beginners get started and it's not one of those high-pressure places...very laid-back. We make the hour drive because it's worth it!

So I decided last minute to take a trip to the Neshannock for some early morning fly fishing, but come to realize I was out of florocarbon Tippet and I wasn't gonna be able to make it to the shop that day to buy some. So I called the shop and the guys were more than happy to make arrangements for me to get my tippet first thing in the morning before the shop would open. Now that's great customer service 😀. Had a fun day fishing then wanted to stop in and thank the guys for making the arrangement. So while I was there I purchased a new chest pack with the staffs recommendations. Couldn't be happier. Great selection, great prices and very knowledgeable staff.. thanks again guys...Ben McCurdy

Mark, Chris, and Bob always go above and beyond. These guys are the best around. If you need anything fishing related they have it or can get it for you. I’ve purchased a lot of tackle there over the years and have also done a guided trip with my son. Every experience has been very good. Highly recommended.

NC Fly Shop is a top shelf place to go!
They are full of knowledge and are honest.
The environment is laid back and relaxing.
They don’t pressure you in purchasing anything but will do their best to guide you in the right direction. Should I say the biggest bang for your buck. Mark,Dan,Chris,Bob and Jed are very good at answering questions from the newbies! So I say this is the place for beginners! They give lessons on fly fishing and tying also. Some might look at the prices for the lessons. But I’ll tell you the instructor (Dan) is a very good! Like he breaks things down and simplifies things so you can comprehend and retain it. I could keep going on but some people go to the Barbershop to talk shop but I’ll go to the NC Fly Shop.

I just got back from my first fishing trip.
It was through the NC Fly Shop.
It was a life changing experience!
Dan guided the trip. We went to Spring creek and Bald eagle. The patients that Dan had was awesome! Even when I was fishing for squirrels!🤨 I learned how to indicator fish. Different casting techniques. Some tight line nymphing. I wasn’t going to go because I wasn’t good enough. I’m glad my wife told me to go. I’m looking forward to next one!

I just purchased a new Echo Fly Rod here yesterday. I want to thank the staff, especially Chris, who helped me with my purchase. I'm extremely happy with my new rod and the friendliness of those who helped me.

Always willing to help weather it's in the shop or talking about the creek or tying a new fly .All I can say if you don't believe me give it a shot up here and find out for your self also hey wife like fishing it's ok plenty of things for her to do while you are enjoying the day.

Best local fly fishing outfitters! No longer live in PA but when I come back to visit I'm always fishing the Neshannock and coming in here to look around and ask what's good to throw out for the day!

Friendly helpful staff. A great inventory of fishing supplies and flies in particular. Best of all it's right on a steam. I've never had a bad day fishing if I stop in here first and ask what flies to use right outside. They are an orvis dealer so stock orvis gear

This Fly shop has absolutely everything. The selection of products in this store is vast, and everything is high quality. Furthermore, the staff is incredible and they go above and beyond to help customers.

I'm a beginner fly fisherman. never been to this place before and was treated like I was a steady costumer for years and the shop is real nice setting on a trout creek that's catch and release. I was pleasantly surprised with everything and will be back to fish and shop.

Always been a good shop but if you haven't visited since the recent ownership change, it's worth another look. Loads of new inventory to see and choose from. Much more comprehensive selection of rods, fly tying material, etc.

Love the addition of the stream cam this year. When you drive 30+ miles to a freestone stream, it's very helpful to see the water conditions, especially after a rain.
