Tim at Superior Guitar Works is the real deal. I've used many luthier's over the years and Tim is top notch, and to top it off he's a great guy to work with. As the saying goes, "you get what you pay for" and Tim is worth every penny. Tim set up my 2015 Les Paul and it's now playing better than ever. Unbelievable attention to detail. The fret leveling and polishing was really well done and the guitar feels like a totally different instrument.

Tim made my badly dented and scratched Carvin California Carved Top look factory-fresh and out-of-the box new. I truly can't tell where the blemishes were! He also did a fabulous set-up with spot-on intonation and action. The work took a bit longer than I was originally promised but when I saw the results, I decided it was worth the wait. Tim is a craftsman of the highest caliber. Your guitar will thank you.

Tim, the owner of Superior Guitar Works is an amazing craftsman. If you are looking for someone to work on one of your prized instruments he’s the guy for you. Although he is a specialist when it comes to acoustic instruments he also does a lot of work on solid body guitars. I brought him my beloved 1973 fender precision bass that over the years I had had customized in Boston in the ‘70’s. I knew it needed a lot of work. We wound up re-fretting and refinishing the maple neck, replaced the nut & bridge which needed to also be filled in. It was routed out by a hack back in the day. We added new Bartolini pickups and electronics. So now I own this fantastic bass that has an amazing sound. So if you have an instrument that you have a personal connection with, and cringe when you have to leave it with someone, not knowing how it will turn out. Leave those worries behind and just be patient, Tim’s got your back.

I've used 6 different guitar techs for my setups, repairs, etc. Some were great and others weren't so great, but none of them are in the same league as Superior Guitar Works. Tim is a very skilled luthier/tech with a wealth of knowledge and a ton of experience. Aside from master grade setups and repairs, he also specializes in instrument restoration.

I gave Tim one of my best Strats to setup after I rewired it, swapped out pickups, and bolted on a new neck. He did an incredible fret job and set everything up perfectly. I never knew how comfortable a Strat could feel until I had him work on it. Tim is super thorough and works with you to make sure everything is exactly like you want it to be, tailoring every aspect to match your unique playing style and technique. When picking up a guitar at a typical shop, I usually just give someone a claim ticket, they hand me my guitar and then I'm out the door. At Superior Guitar Works, you're given your guitar to plug in and test to make sure everything's up to par, and if something isn't, Tim adjusts it for you on the spot. You don't walk out the door until your guitar is 100% perfect...can't get much better than that.

I could go on and on about how great Superior Guitar Works is but I'd end up writing a book. If you're considering Superior Guitar, do yourself a favor and give them a call. I'll be using Tim as my new go-to guitar tech for anything I need in the future.
