I have to say first and foremost, even better than the food, is the friendly service. The woman at the front was so kind and patient with us while we ordered, so much good food it was hard to choose. I eventually chose the pork katsu and my goodness was it flavorful. The cutlet was the perfect form of crispy and juicy and the curry put it all together. Definitely a warm and comforting meal worth the trip to Ardmore to enjoy. The little convenience store on the other side is also a plus. Was able to pick up some staples like togarashi and hon tsuyu for the home. Love this place. Thanks to everyone who works here! You all are awesome!

The place is 12/10 ! Aesthetic and so cute! Love the snacks and sweets 😋.
And the "restaurant " part is amazing! The udon is MIND-BLOWING! So savory and delicious! I recommend this place! (Tip: Bring more than $20 ! It's a little expensive.)

It's always fun to impulse buy candy and snacks from here, along with their skincare and stationary. Their selection of products is pretty good as well. Really reliable if I need to purchase anything spices or sauces to make japanese food, this is the best place in the area. Their restaurant area has amazing food and they have some bakery items as well. The only place I can find melon bread around here! Although it's packaged and not fresh it's still very tasty.

I’ve been on the hunt for some traditional Japanese comfort meals on the mainline. I was really excited to try things from Maido’s kitchen! Make sure you grab some Ramuné drinks in the mini fridge before you order. Ramuné is this amazing Japanese soda that has a marble you have to “pop” out into the drink. It is very fun and the drink is so good!

We ordered the Takoyaki and a small order of udon to start. We really loved how flavorful the broth was for the Udon. The Takoyaki was very unique and so tasty! For our main meals we ordered a bowl of the katsu curry bowl, which comes with white rice, amazing Japanese curry, and nicely crisped pork cutlet. The cutlet was not dry and added the right amount of texture to the bowl. The chicken teriyaki don was absolutely amazing. Classic teriyaki flavors with nicely caramelized chicken and well cooked rice. It was also really nice to be able to take our left overs to go easily. The bowls they come in are the ones you can take home, all you need is lids.

After eating, the beauty of the whole experience at Maido’s is being able to shop for most of those ingredients! The store is so organized and filled with Japanese snacks and other items. Overall this shop is a hot spot! Pretty busy, so try to come during off hours to have a smooth dining experience! I can not wait to visit again! Great place for lunch or a quick bite!

Maido is a wonderful microcosm of Japan in a market. The best! They have all kinds of traditional Japanese foods and wares, along with a countertop restaurant. One of my favorite treats is to wrap kinako mochi in fresh shiso leaves and hot off the grill okonomiyaki. If you can't find street parking, just go a few blocks to the Cricket Garage.

Wonderful Japanese eatery and market! We love their okonomiyaki abs katsu curry, and the takoyaki and onigiri are also fantastic. BFriendly service, a great place for lunch or dinner.

Also has a great market for Japanese gufts, cooking goods, beauty products, and snacks.

I came here on a cold rainy day and had the coziest experience. The service was wonderful and they offer complimentary iced barley tea. I ordered the shrimp yakisoba and it was the perfect meal for that weather! I was so hungry I didn’t think to snap photos but maybe next time (because I shall return!).

Legit Japanese store with a small restaurant. Been coming here for years but suddenly realized I haven’t left a review. You have to try their Bentos and udons taste even better than those in Japan!

Authentic, delicious Japanese cuisine with all of my favorites: Yakisoba, Katsu Curry, onigiri and much more. The restaurant side is amazing and so is the store. I love coming here to get my fix of Japanese culture! Most of the employees on the restaurant side speak japanese so you can order food in japanese or practice speaking with them too! I’ll be back to try more!

Cute stationary items and kitchen ware. Unique stuff that I can’t find anywhere short of a trip to mid town New York. Sure I come for Bento and onigiri, frozen fish balls and picked veg, wasabi and nori sheets. But just as often, I make a trip for stationary haul. Origami paper, cards, notebooks, cute erasers, pens and pencils. Also a great stock of east Asian cookware and tableware. A school friend of my son’s has a tradition of taking a selfie with the Totoro at the gate every time she walks by. I might adopt her tradition. Who doesn’t love Totoro!

This place is amazing! Fantastic okonomiyaki. I order it every time I'm in Ardmore. Reminds me of being back in Japan. The adjacent grocery store has a wonderful selection of Japanese candies and royal milk tea. Staff and chefs are very friendly too! Love this place!

This is a great restaurant and grocery store with excellent lunch options. There is plenty of seating at the counter. For about $10 you get a salad a small udon soup and an entree (that is normally half the regular size). The adjoining store has a big selection of japanese groceries. Someday I will indulge in the selections of ramen and mochi.

Lovely market where you can find all sorts of Japanese products. I just love the atmosphere. The restaurant specializes in comfort food and is also quite good. I personally like the tempura udon. Parking can be a bit tricky. There are a few spots behind the market and some public lots hidden behind nearby stores.

Nice small marketplace with various Japanese imports such as snacks, cooking ingredients, kitchen utensils, frozen foods, and beauty products. The open kitchen restaurant serve modest Japanese dishes like udon noodles, curry, yakisoba, and okonomiyaki but there are not many seats and is always busy during lunch time. It's a great unique stop in a neighborhood that has almost everything else.
