Imhotep Institute Charter High School

i was a student here. i graduated in 2009 (class of 6249) i LOVED my school. they definitely prepared me for college. and here i am 4 years later the year 2013 with my Bachelor of Arts ;) thanks to them. Staff is close knit. really cares about students. promotes diversity!!!

I am a graduate as well as parent of students. The education and curriculum is top notch. The sports program is one of the best in the city. My Children’s first pick for high schools.

I am a proud student of class 2002 as well as a parent of current students. The academic and athletic programs are phenomenal.

A lot of the kids around here goes to this charter school....I watched them build this school from the ground up...... This school gives our kids hope gives them something that these other schools don't have.

What

I love how the school changed my son and how he has become a mild mannered young man. I really appreciate what the structure has done for him. I do have one dislike about the faculty. My son's experience with one particular faculty member has been very bad. Since my son has started there he has done nothing but pick and harass him. It is not just him but other teenagers as well. This semester it has been the dress code. I understand that the children must follow the code and I thought up until now he was but I was just informed by my child that the sneakers he is wearing are still not proper. Brother Steve must do his job but I don't like the fact that he picks and picks and gets smart with the parents and children. He has made out of hand statements such as, "Well I can do what I want and you can't do anything about it, or If you don't like it you can transfer you child out of the school". Now you tell me what do you think I should do. I am going to talk to him first and if it doesn't stop then I am going higher up. Prayfully this will get handled.
