Riverton Hotel and Restaurant

Came here for dinner on our last night in town. Wish we would have discovered this gem earlier. Food and service was excellent and the beer was nice and cold! John the owner is a hysterical grouchy old Greek and we loved his humor! It was so good we had breakfast the next day! Oh and if you get the London broil, make sure you ask them to slice it thin♡😁

Ammmmaaazzing food. I ordered a grilled cheese with tomato and disco fries. Regular restaurants always give me a sad looking kids meal. Riverton gave me an adult meal.

If you’re looking for a truly home style meal, this is the place. The smoked salmon has absolutely got to my favorite. And when the owner comes around to have you try his own homemade pickles , absolutely to die for. This place is so peaceful I love it!

You have to try this place. Yes, the decor & vibe is a time warp straight back to the 80's but it's charming and wait till you taste the food. I got the broiled seafood combination and it was outstanding. Everything tasted so fresh and delicious. The scallops were sweet, the crab stuffing was perfect. The house dressing on the Greek salad was to die for. Very fresh and crisp lettuce - one of the ways I judge a restaurant. Also got the spinach & artichoke dip: very good.

The owner John and his family are amazing. Personal, friendly service. Many Greek specialty foods. If you're lucky to be there at the right time he serves Fried Green Tomatoes from his own garden.

Went with my family for breakfast. We were greeted and seated. Everyone was very attentive. Our meals were delicious and service was great. Our portions were large and the prices are very affordable.Please check out the Riverton, you wont be disappointed .

Stayed there for about 3 weeks back in 2015. Traveling alone, I spent a lot of time in the bar with John. He’s a great host and a exceptional chef. If I’m ever out that way again, I’ll definitely stop bye. Scenery in the area is beautiful as well, being from Chicagoland this place was very unique to me. This place is a relic, it’s old school, it’s got a cozy atmosphere, it’s vintage, appreciate it because these places are few and far between anymore. Hope your doing well John.

Great food, great service, wonderful owners. Most items are made from scratch including the bread. Couldn't be happier with this restaurant/bar. Hotel and banquet rooms are also available. Wish I didn't move so far away from this fantastic place.

I've driven past this place a lot ,throughout my 36years. Finally stopped in the other day. So happy I did! I had drunken clams and crab bisque soup...sooo good! Definitely going back to try more off the menu. They have specials too! So my next visit will probably be for $3 Taco Tues

We love this family run spot! The chicken wings are delicious and so much better then the franchise wing places. They also have great burgers, and Greek favorites. Everything is homemade!!

Ate here years ago and it was a dim bar. When I went with a group of people on a Thursday night for a semi-formal dinner, it was wonderful. The prices were reasonable, the food was delicious and the service prompt and friendly. I had a great steak, and several people in the group had lamb and said it was the best they've had.

My GOODNESS it's awesome to stop at a random restaurant and be absolutely blown away by the food.

Amazing Greek food, friendly atmosphere and great service. I got a gyro and baklava for dessert and absolutely loved it! I can't wait to come back again!

been coming here for years growing up but has been many years since i visited the area again to come back. It has atmosphere, wonderful food, the waitress just as good as the food. Everything was perfection and it was as i remembered...a lovely place to go for a quiet meal in beautiful setting. thanks

A wonderful place that I had been to many times over the years, but sorry to hear that it will be closing permanently due to the owners retiring. Going to miss this place as a destination ride with our motorcycle club.

Grape leaves were phenomenal. Great food. You can tell everything is made from scratch and with love from the owners. Definitely a new favorite spot.

Jon is the best host ever! Took my gf out for her bday and everything exceeded our expectations! Everything fresh, homemade, timing was perfect. And the hospitality you cannot beat! Like no other. I drive 40 minutes to come here and I will continue to❤❤

Me and my family have been going here for over 10 years. The owner is hilarious and friendly. The two dishes I recommend the most are the meatloaf or teriyaki salmon. Simply delicious. If you like chocolate, the chocolate flourless cake is a perfect dessert indulgence.

Been going to this restaurant for over 20 years food is delicious owners are fantastic would recommend this to anyone in the area to stop in say hello to John and Christina and enjoy your meal
