Brown Sugar Bakery & Cafe Inc

One of my favorite restaurants right now. I’ve been on a Caribbean food kick and Brown Sugar is one of the few Trini places in Philly. the food is authentic, affordable, and filling. The roti is to die for and I also love the brown stew chicken. Their bakery has a bunch of fresh options. I recommend the cassava pone and the coco bread. Staff are friendly and helpful and I love the vibe.

Out of a lot of different places, I went this place, definitely answers to the Trinidadian culture. All their food takes me back To my trip to Kingston a bit. The oxtail was some of the best oxtail I’ve ever eaten, and they gave me a very nice size platter. The food was very affordable and I will be back.

Friendly atmosphere. Delicious food well-prrpared and not overly seasoned (salty). I have dined in, taken out and used delivery.

Food was soooooo goooood. Had beef & goat Roti. Sat in the car and ate it immediately. So so so good.

This hidden gem has definitely sparkled 52nd St. A clean, friendly atmosphere made my visit more enticing. The currant rolls, rock bun and bread pudding reminded my of 'home'..... and the Thyme plants where indicative of the love that was shared there. See you next time 🙏🏾🥰

Brown Sugar has really great food & beverages , if you ever want a home cook meal that's the place to go. ( Try: Curry Chicken & Brown Rice beans, w/ Sweet Plantains)👌🏾

I tried their beef with rice and plantains. Beef is so tender and flavorful and the best part of the meal. Rice is good. I wasn't a huge fan of the plantains. The box was filled with meat and really good value, so if you're nearby, go for a visit!

Wow! I was blown away by the quality and flavor of the food here! Every dish was flavorful and uniquely spiced. The meat was tender and falls right off the bone and the rice and beans were perfect. Definitely going back many times!

I ordered doubles with pepper. It was very good. The dough was really fresh. I am going back for the curry chicken roti. Stay tuned.

Meat prices are favorable as I bought 2 boxes for a cookout. Jerk chicken wings are great with the sauce.

I went near closing time for them on Sat., so the Roti had sold out by the time I had arrived. They highly recommended the Cow Heel Soup and I obliged. I had never had it, but it was very tasty, with root vegetables and it was very fragrant. I also bought a chicken patty, a veggie patty and coco 🍞. That was also tasty. I gotta go back soon. Friendly customer service too!

Food was incredible! Haven’t had brown sugar oxtail and rice in over 2 years, came back for a visit and was very pleased! Will be back very soon! 😃

The only place in west philly to get authentic Trinidad Roti. Can't order ahead, just show up and wait 10 minutes. It's Caribbean time, worth the wait.

My brother and I stopped by for some Roti before an 11hr ride back home . Felicia and Cherry were so welcoming .The food was amazing . This is my new Philly go to spot .
