Main St. Cafe

Decided to stop and give this place a try. The decor in the place is comforting. It's a diner, but you get that home cooked feeling. Sarah was our server, and she was phenomenal, very friendly, and attentive to our table. The food came out very quickly was hot and accurate. The food was reasonably priced, would come again and bring the kids.

Hidden gem, just like everyone is saying. Seated immediately, service (Pam!) was excellent, food was 10/10. Definitely making this a regular stop with my little review buddy.

Tbh, I was a little confused about the "must purchase a beverage" thing.. I'm a water guy. But if that's the business model that it takes to crank out excellent food, then by golly I'll get a drink.

This was the quintessential diner experience. I went on a whim with my granddaughter son and husband we were on a short trip to St. Louis to see a Blues game and came over the river to show my granddaughter where her dad grew up (we were stationed at Scott) and we wanted a stop for lunch before we headed to the airport. This diner got rave reviews. It was a little out of the way but so worth the drive. Their food is excellent diner fare. Don’t go for chic-y food this is homemade stick to your ribs fare well worth the fork work and well worth the price. Skillets filled with deliciousness- I had the meat lovers skillet and it was just what it sounds like- a breakfast meat revelation. The chicken tenders went down smooth and the meat lovers omelet my son had was more praise worthy than anything you might get at IHOP or another chain- far surpassing the chain fare…yep…by a country mile! We ended the meal with fried raspberry cheese cake…heaven!!

My husband and I have been going here for the last decade and thoroughly enjoy our every visit. I only ever get their breakfast and am always pleased. We didn't go during the pandemic and only recently returned two weeks in a row and I was shocked to see that their prices are just as low as they were before this economic collapse. We will continue to frequent the diner and support this small business. There are few places around town that serve such quality diner food at such a low cost.

Their biscuits are some of the best I've had, SO fluffy!

Everything that I’ve eaten at this restaurant has been very fresh. Very good. I find the prices. Amazing. They have the best waitresses and this place is the best. I love everything about this place.

Looks questionable on the outside, just fine on the inside. The food is priced very fairly and tasty. I've only ever eaten breakfast here, but others say good things about the salad bar and lunch. It's a popular spot for old folks looking for a home cooked meal. Service was speedy and accurate. Dont judge a book by its cover, you will likely enjoy this place.

This place was amazing, The food was delicious, the service was fast. I went there with my family. The food was made fast, and efficiently. I will definitely be coming back.

They only had one server with a full restaurant. Server was doing her best. Food was really good. Will be going back.

I have a wonderful time here and I firm missouri it was really clean the staff was friendly but felt like family the food reminded me of my childhood ♥ it was the best homemade I had in a while thank for the bass in the past

First time there it was awesome, prices very reasonable and service was awesome too. We will b back soon. You can get breakfast, lunch and dinner. Hours are varying right now short staffed at times I would call ahead but we'll worth it totally!

We're new to Belleville having moved here from Indy and this was the first place we decided to stop and eat. The sunny side up eggs were perfectly crispy around the edges but not overcooked and the hashbrowns managed to be crunchy but also soft and fluffy. I had the biscuits and gravy and just melted. Our waitress was awesome too and we didn't feel like strangers at all. I can't wait to come back!

Besides having the most delicious food and prices, the staff are SO ATTENTIVE and friendly! My favorite place to eat when in town!

I went yesterday for dinner. Had an omelet and haahbriwns. Food filled my entire plate. Wow. The manager even game me a sanple of the homemade rice pudding. Omg. It was phenomenal. I love this place. Service is great. The people are very friendly. I will always go back.

A quaint little restaurant that is favored by the locals (and I completely understand why). The staff is courteous and attentive to your needs. The food is fresh/hot and served promptly with a smile. An awesome alternative to visiting chain restaurants like Denny's and IHOP!

Update: The last review was from 2 yrs ago, but I’m back and the food, service, prices, and atmosphere has not changed. This is our favorite breakfast spot when I’m in now. If you are traveling through, avoid the chain restaurants at all cost and visit this place! 😋

They have very good food. I would recommend Main Street Cafe. They have great home cooked meals

Their food is delicious: the Country Fried Steak, puts you in the mind of the show Gun Smoke. They seat you and start serving you almost as soon as you walk through the door, even when its busy. Some customers seem to know the staff as if they were good friends. The staff is patient and prompt. They are suggestive when you cant make up your mind. They are friendly, pleasant and understanding. And they have the best strawberry french toast.
