Beautiful area to explore! Lots of hiking trails and all are well maintained. They have placards and QR codes along the trails that help you identify what you are looking at. Trails take you by multiple ponds and lakes as you wind your way through the forest. They have trails for beginners through advanced. Great place to soak in nature for a couple hours. Lots to see so definitely make the trip and remember to leave only footprints!

This spot is exceptionally still and quiet. Love walking the space here and taking in the breathtaking glory of the sanctuary. The sanctuary sponsors artist in residency programs here in addition to being a space to find tranquility and ease. Great place to shoot photos and walk with family and friends. Be sure to check it out when in the area.

A lovely place, with great trail markers and signage, and lots of educational/interpretive signs as well. Fantastic hiking, with lots of different trail options, and interesting local history to boot. AND scientists are actively doing research projects here. Highly recommended.

Sanctuary is an understatement this place is simply a little slice of heaven on Earth with incredible knowledge at your fingertips. If you've got kids I highly recommend visiting for the day. They have a unique kids play area next to the main center. I spent 4hrs exploring & only seen a small portion!

The family and I had a wonderful hike here. There are many trails to hike on and it’s beautiful scenery with trees, lakes, ponds and animals. I would recommend to anyone. Hikes are good for even beginners.

Although our time was limited, we enjoyed our hike at Lacawac Sanctuary. The trails were very well marked and we had almost the whole place entirely to ourselves on a Sunday afternoon, just us and the wildlife, it was wonderful! We will definitely come back next time and try a different trail.

Wonderful local park with many trails, ponds and lake. There are even historical buildings that are used for events. The trails are many so there are maps available at the entrance. Please support this local park by making the suggested donation of $10.

Lacawac Sanctuary is a hidden gem. It is absolutely one of the most peaceful and beautiful places I have ever been to. I hope you enjoy the photos as much as I enjoyed the Sanctuary.

Pretty place not a sole here today, lake lacawac was very frozen and peaceful, hiked most of the trails. Good for families with children. Really no vista's or lookouts with visibility.

super cute for families and friends who want to go for a stroll, learn a little about the area and take in the greenery/ponds. parking lot entrance has a few spots and maps to take for exploration.
There are a few trails to choose from all labeled and named. Bird watchers and callers may really like this place--- bring your binoculars.
The longest "hike" is not even 2 miles, and considered advanced according to their maps. In actuality, they're all easy and pleasant. Not bad for an afternoon lunch break; you can take your picnic baskets and enjoy a meal by the tables mid hike too. there's an area by the old ice house building on the map where you can go sit and take a bathroom break.

We went in late December but the weather was in low 40s and good enough for us to hike to the lake. Trails are well maintained and easy for young kids. Took our 3 and 5 year old and the dog. There lots of trails to try but it was enough with kids to walk to the lake and back. Took about an hour to walk and explore the one trail.

Would go back again on our next visit.
