Shear Genius has been my go-to for almost seven years. Brooke is always cheerful and takes her time cutting my hair. She has given me many tips and good advice over the years that has helped me manage my hair in between visits. She listens to any concerns I may have and makes recommendations which generally turn out to be spot on. Jennifer is very friendly and patient and Gloria always shares a smile. I highly recommend Shear Genius!

I’ve been going to Shear Genius for many years now. Brooke is very talented at coloring & cuts. She really listens to what you want her to do with your hair. I especially like how she teaches you interesting new ways to take care of your hair. She takes the time to explain how & why you should do certain things & what products work best for your hair type.
Also if you have curly hair, like me, she will show you the curly hair method that really brings your curls out!

Feel really lucky to find a Deva certified salon so close to home! Brooke has helped me love my hair again, grow it out, and add vibrant color. I love how communicative the operation is with text reminders and proactive communication of openings. Amazing customer service! It’s a chill vibe and everyone is very friendly, not intimidating as I’ve experienced at other salons. Brooke is extremely knowledgeable about caring for and styling curly hair. Can’t recommend enough!

Literally the best hair salon I have ever been to. Brooke is a curly hair master! I have super fine and damaged hair AND was dying to have bright red highlights. Brooke has managed to get my hair healthy, make my curls looks amazing, and give me the red I was looking for. Everyone here could not be nicer, the entire experience is a pleasure.

I have very long curly hair and often recommend Brooke and her wonderful staff at Shear Genius. You'll be greeted by Jennifer, the friendly receptionist, who possesses magical appointment scheduling skills, all done with a smile. Gloria will wash and rinse your hair with efficiency and handles special requests like mine which is extra towels to dry my hair. Then there's Brooke, the master colorist with my golden blonde hair and hair stylist for us curly hair girls! She specializes in the dry Deva cuts and Deva styling technique which means embracing your curls with Deva conditioner, scrunching your curls with a special towel that locks in hydration and product and then styling curls pins for lift and heat. Brooke at Shear Genius is wonderful. I have finally accepted my curls, she cuts them, has taught me to style them so there is no frizz, extremely easy to maintain and has a style to it. She has also found a color I am very happy with!

I have been going to Shear Genius since 2018 when I moved to Norwalk from Los Angeles. Finding a new hairdresser is always challenging but I was delighted with Shear Genius from the start. Brooke is not only a great stylist but also incredibly customer-focused. She always asks how the last haircut worked out to find out what, if anything should be changed. She is efficient and runs on time (something I very much appreciate). During the pandemic, I have been so appreciative of the care she has taken to protect her customers. I am grateful that she has minimized the risk for all her clients with particular concern for her older clientele (like me). If you want a salon that does a great job and truly cares about you, find your way to Shear Genius.

I've been a client of Shear Genius Salon for over 10 years and can't recommend them enough. Brook, the owner, is kind, funny and a great stylist. I'm someone who is always looking for something new and modern to do to my hair and she can do it all! Shear Genius Salon is a great hair salon. Brooke has seen me through many different styles over the years and I am always impressed. Whenever I walk out of there, I feel like a million bucks. The cuts and style she gives me with my curly hair are amazing, and she's taught me how to style it appropriately and so easily. The best part is she walks you through the entire styling process so it's easy to recreate at home. Would recommend them to anyone in the area!

I came to shear genius on a whim and my haircut with Dana did not disappoint! She listened to exactly what I wanted and gave me a beautiful cut. She is so knowledgeable, especially with my wavy short style. I got so many compliments the next day. The staff was super friendly and accommodating to my last minute needs. I am new to Fairfield County and thoroughly researched salons in the area before ultimately deciding on Shear Genius. Collaborating with Dana was a great experience! She was attentive to her craft, provided detailed advice on styling, and recommended a quality heat protectant.

Given the nature of the pandemic, the salon was VERY reassuring when it came to safety when I made my appointment and provided detailed instructions over the phone as well as through the confirmation email.

I have already made my next appointment in six weeks and look forward to it!

I switched salons after 15 years and was so nervous to take a chance on Shear Genius. But after reading multiple great reviews, I decided to give it a try. I have had a wonderful experience with both Dana and Kailey for my daughter and I (Dana for balyage and cut, Kailey for cut). They are so kind and accommodating, and are a really great value for the area. Highly recommend!!

Shear Genius is a gem established in Norwalk! The staff are friendly and attentive and make every effort to ensure your experience is professional and satisfactory. I personally do not trust just anyone with cutting and styling my hair but Brooke has never disappointed. I always leave with great style and added recommendations for upkeep and care.

A great new experience given it was my first time there! I was looking for a new colorist and was matched with Dana. She took her time consulting me and trying to understand what kind of balayage look I was going for. My hair is very dark and wasn’t lightening enough - which Dana also mentioned I should be aware of. Nothing some blue shampoo couldn’t fix and I love my new look. I need to come back for a few more lightening sessions. I also added the Olaplex treatment to my hair treatment and it made my hair super soft!! They’re super kind people and are really customer-oriented. I can see why there are so many regulars who come here as they treat everyone with the most positive and cheery attitude.

Shear Genius Owner, Brooke, does a wonderful job managing the salon seeing to every detail offering fair prices and friendly service. Newest member of the team, Cayley, listens, makes suggestions and goes completely out of her way to make sure that I am happy! In fact, the entire staff is talented, helpful, and extremely professional. Highly recommend Shear Genius!

I was looking for a new Deva Stylist and found Brooke at Shear Genius. She has helped bring the most out of my curls. She quickly picked up that my well water was impacting my hair. I am so happy with Brooke and her salon. Everyone is so nice and helpful. The salon is very conviently located and very comfortable.

A wonderful place to be pampered for your hair! I have been going to Shear Genius for almost 2 years now, and that says a lot about me! I never last long at most hair salons normally because I become dissatisfied with some aspect about my hair not being done the way I really want it. This pace deserves a 5 star rating!!
I first visited the salon because I wanted the complimentary Deva curl styling demo and Brooke (the owner) gave this to me. She did an awesome job! From that day I started to visit Shear Genius and have never left since! I feel like I am treating myself for a pampering visit when I go to this Salon because I also get a cappuccino in a special cup during my visit! If you don't like coffee there are other beverages they offer, also in a special cup!!!
Tiffani cuts and colors my hair, and she does a wonderful job. She, and the others, are so down to earth, and it's so pleasant when I come to the salon. I even enjoy the people who wash my hair!
In addition, Pam, the receptionist, is so accommodating that she really seals the great experience one has at this salon.
Lastly, I also love the hair products that they sell. Because my hair is wavy/curly, I use mostly the Deva Products (along with the Soma hair conditioning products).
I always tell people about this salon and will continue to.
You must visit this salon. You will never want or need to visit another!
