Perkins Restaurant & Bakery

I recently dined at Perkins Restaurant & Bakery in Tunkhannock and had a somewhat mixed experience, but I'd like to emphasize the positive aspects as well as the areas that could use improvement.

On the plus side, the restaurant has an excellent location, and the quality of the food was quite good. I particularly enjoyed the delicious breakfast options they offered. The staff at the beginning of our visit were extremely friendly and helpful, which added to our overall enjoyment.

However, there was a notable hiccup during our visit when we encountered a staff member who was quite the opposite. Unfortunately, she seemed disinterested in their job, lacked a sense of responsibility, and even reacted poorly when we asked a question about our order before storming off. This created a jarring contrast to the friendly and attentive employees we had initially interacted with.

Our table was left uncleared, and we had to wait a long time for our bill. It's important to note that it wouldn't be fair to judge the entire restaurant based on this single experience with an unfriendly and unprofessional employee.

While I had my reservations about the service during this visit, I'd like to highlight that the location and food quality are definite strong points. However, there is room for improvement in the beverage department. They don't offer cappuccino, latte macchiato, or espresso, which I believe should be standard in most restaurants today.

In summary, my experience at Perkins Restaurant & Bakery in Tunkhannock was a bit of a mixed bag due to the inconsistency in service. I'd recommend giving it a try, especially for their tasty breakfast options and great location, but be prepared for potential variations in service quality.

It's hard NOT to get the turkey dinner, and it's on the 55 Plus menu all year...everything is cooked perfect.

A good time to go us between 3 and 5 pm--very few people. Our food and service was good.

The new dessert, chocolate peanut butter drop, was incredibly thick and fudge-y, not fluffy, if you're feeling like something other than French silk pie.

Stopped in after a long day and just have to say Rebecca was absolutely amazing. She was quick on her feet and very friendly, she was on top of everything from the drink refills to all the little extras I asked for with my meal. As a server myself I have high expectations, and could not have asked for a better server. You guys are lucky to have a server as wonderful as Rebecca I will defiantly be back thanks to her.

5 stars all throughout the board. The food was good, came out quick and the prices were great.

I have to say I love the breakfast here. I have come twice now and have not been disappointed yet. I just love our waitress! She has got to be one of the best I've ever had! As a former waitress myself it is such a refreshing change of pace when you have a waitress who is awesome!! I swear they don't pay her enough for the rude people that are dealt with. The last time I was there this one lady was so rude to her it took everything in me not to get up and say if you have nothing nice to say about our wonderful waitress you should have stayed home! There's no reason to be rude to a waitress who is awesome and very accommodating! I cannot remember what the name of the meal I get is but it has a piece of the second best kielbasa as schiffs is the best, it has bacon and sausage links, 2 eggs, home fries (cubes) with onions sure you can choose a different potato this is just my favorite, and I get the 3 pancakes instead of toast or muffin. I love love love how they give you a little thermal coffee pot of coffee so you can fill your own cup at your leisure and get as many refills as you want! I was never a fan of their lunch/dinner menu but the breakfast is so good!! If in tunkhannock area you would kick yourself for choosing another diner for breakfast. I cannot say anything bad about the service or breakfast. I go Saturday mornings. Definitely highly recommend! Oh did I mention the last time I went they were so short staffed only the boss and one waitress took everything in me not to say how can I help you? I look forward to being able to come back for another amazing breakfast! I know I will always ask for the same waitress and hope it doesn't come across as rude.

Went here on a Monday night. We had an excellent waitress who took very good care of us, including our 2 year old. Food was very good, and reasonably priced, considering inflation. Place was very clean as well. Would recommend.

For the price it is a sweet restaurant, I was here for work and in 11 days we went to lunch there at least 5 times, service is great and fast too and the menu have all sort of meal, from good pankakes to club sandwiches and even fancier meal with shrimp that are really good too. Good for families and have really good amount of food in your plate. Totally recommend this place!

Stopped for a late dinner. Our server Maxi was great. They were short staffed but she did a great job. Food was really good. 2 people...$40 with the tip.

Great service. Friendly and helpful Staff. I live in Upstate New York and when I visit family and friends in the Scranton PA area I make a point of stopping in Tunkhannock for lunch.

Went back there to have dinner , delicious we enjoyed the steak it was well season , our waitress was really nice..we sure will visit there again.

I really like this Perkins. Good food. Fast very friendly service. Big portions and yummy desserts. It is also located next to scenic golf course and club. Worth the drive.
