Busy but accommodating salon open Sundays! Made a same day appointment, slight wait when I arrived while they finished working with the person before me (they paused to make sure I was comfortable and informed).

My favorite stylist Paige just joined the team at Jul’s salon in New Canaan and I was there this weekend. The building inside and out has the bright, cheery feel of a lovely Coastal New England cottage. The busy staff was friendly and welcoming. The salon is on two stories with everything needed, including sinks and a powder room on both floors. The owner stocks a variety of products and the salon is very clean. As always Paige did a beautiful job on my hair which has already received many compliments. My next appointment is in five weeks but the experience was so pleasant I’m tempted to go back for a shampoo and blow dry sooner!

I love Jul Salon. The staff is very professional and their work is wonderful. I love getting my balayage done there. The owners is amazing, friendly and professional. You really feel like home at their salon. I highly recommend this place.

Catherine has been doing my hair for three years now, and not only does she manage to get the cut just the way I like it, but she has an amazing talent with blending colors to find the look I'm hoping for. She listens to your ideas, makes suggestions in case she thinks the cut or style won't work with what you have, and finds a way to make a beautiful finished product every time. As someone who's very picky about who does my hair, I am always excited and trust that she'll know exactly what to do to give me a fresh look I love!

The rest of the staff at Jul's Hair Salon are also warm and welcoming, and never make you feel like you are an inconvenience. Each customer is important to them, and it's hard to find places that provide this kind of atmosphere or service. Definitely give Jul's a try!

I loved this salon, and it’s always been my go- to for special events. The staff has always been so friendly and nice, they always do a good job on my hair and makeup, and the place itself is very pretty and clean.
However, this happened a while ago, and I feel the need to share my experience for one particular time, hopefully so other people know about this. I’ve gotten basically the same hairdo for special occasions; prom, dinner parties, etc and all for roughly the same price. on the day I was getting married, I came with my bridesmaid (we booked two appointments in advance) and I went to here to get relatively simple hairdos. I got the same one that I’ve always gotten and the hairdressers made small talk with us. We didn’t do anything bridal nor request anything special, we just booked two normal hair appointments. They asked what we were getting our hair done for and we told them that I was getting married. They continued to ask many other questions, like where the wedding was and about my fiancé and such. I told them about how having a small wedding, pretty much just eloping for now because my fiancé and I wanted to be together without the stress of a big event. When it came time to pay, I was charged almost double what I’ve always normally paid for. They literally told me “we’re charging extra, because of your hair is being done for a wedding.”
I know that things for weddings normally cost more, but that’s because brides and bridesmaids ask for more complicated hairdos, special bridal treatments, a big wedding party, consultations, etc. This literally was just a normal hair appointment for the day that I was eloping. We got no special / traditional wedding treatment, and we got hairdos we’ve gotten there before. We just requested normal appointments. We had to pay double just because I was getting married, and they felt entitled to more money, with no extra work, all because it was my special day. And they don’t have anything on their website mentioning wedding/ bridal prices, nor did they disclose to me that there would be an up charge until it came time to pay.
I feel that this was really sneaky on their part because this was not communicated to us until very last second. I was a semi-regular here, and they broke my trust. It’s disappointing because I genuinely like this place and their staff’s work, but I feel that this was so unprofessional.
I’m sorry that this is long, but think twice about going here if your getting your hair done for your own or someone else’s small elopement and/or wedding.
