Such a fun hike! We’ve hiked up to the tower from a few directions and have such a good time every time we go. The area up there gives an unbelievable view of the Farmington Valley and the Tower itself is very beautiful!

- There is NO access to the Heublein Tower from Montevideo Road, so if you are planning to hike please put “Talcott Car Parking” in your google maps.
- Trail isn’t stroller friendly so plan accordingly.
- Must visit 360 degree fall color view at the tower

Love the trails, hiking, views, and history of this park. Great to visit during the fall to see some of the foliage.

Great short hike. The tower is beautiful. Bathrooms and water fountain available at the tower. Don't miss this, especially on a beautiful fall day!

There are some incredible views here. Particularly around the start of autumn, it's particularly pretty with all the colors fron the foliage. One clear days you can see whole cities in the distance. It's a fairly challenging walking trail to get there, but it's well worth it. If you intend to enter the tower, it would be wise to check in advance if it's open. I think it's still "only the weekend" for now, but even without getting the birds eye view, there still plenty to be seen in the surrounding area!

Visiting the Heublein Tower can be a physically demanding and challenging experience, but it can also be extremely rewarding. The views from the top of the tower can be breathtaking and provide a unique perspective on the surrounding landscape. It is important to be prepared for the hike and to take necessary precautions, such as wearing appropriate footwear and bringing plenty of water. It may also be helpful to pace yourself and take breaks as needed to prevent fatigue. Overall, visiting a tower with a long and inclined trail can be a memorable and rewarding experience for those who are physically able and prepared for the challenge.

The car park is marked on Google maps as Talcott Car Parking. From there it's a 1.25 mile walk to the tower. The gravel road rises for most part of it. The tower is a well organized attraction, with a society which has maintained it. Outside the tower, in one of the buildings, you can watch a video on the history of the place. Walking up the tower is not hard, you can stop on each floor to see how the family lived. At the top, the ballroom, it is warm. The height allows you to see all of the surrounding area, but it was a bit of a let down as there are no significant landmarks. You can see Hartford in the distance. Still the tower and its contents of a bygone era by itself is worth a visit

The hike up was beautiful and the views from the tower were even more beautiful! There is a small picnic area at the top with a drinking water fountain nearby. Masks not required, but recommended. There’s a bathroom outside that has real toilets.

Amazing place to visit, especially now in colorful October! Easy, 20 min, well maintained road up to the Tower with mild elevation with breath taking views! It would be nice to come back and see it in the winter time!

Visited this place during fall and the view from top on a clear day was amazing, during the hike there are several view points from where you can catch amazing views and see beautiful fall colors. The hike is not very tiring and it is just over a mile so it an easy hike with amazing views!!!

Great place to get in a hike.
Can hike from the state park parking lot in Simsbury, or you can state you hike while walking 2 miles in at Hartford #6 res. Then that takes you to the top to visit Hueblin Tower.

This place is awesome!

A bit of a hike is well worth it.

A great view of a significant region tied to America's history.

Lot's of history here to learn about like:
1) The Moscow Mule
2) President Eisenhower
3) American immigrants
4) Regional landmarks

This is small beautiful hike. We parked our car at Talcott State Park and started hike form there. There is a small park at the top where you can find a sitting area to enjoy a picnic with your friends and family. This is out and back trail.

A lovely peaceful historic home turned museum on top of a hill, accessible by car and by Talcott Hiking Trail that runs through Talcott Mountain State Park. One can get very nice 360 degree views of the Hartford, Springfield and all the neighboring towns.

Visit for the views! Don't miss the splendid 360° view from the top of the tower, it's worth it. On a clear day, CT (and more) looks spectacular - rolling hills with mountains in the distances, the Hartford skyline, and a little history of the Heublein family on the way up!

Only opened 10-4 Friday to Monday.

Observation deck is beautiful! No food or drink allowed inside tower, but nice picnic table nearby.

Make sure to check out the movie about the history of the tower. It plays continuously near the bottom of the tower.

I got up to the tower from Hazen Park trailhead and I made it into an entire Loop and also went out to King Phillip's cave.
