Oriental Cafe

Today we went to our son’s favorite restaurant Oriental Cafe for the most delicious weekend lunch ever! Fresh, delicious, and such a selection! The atmosphere is charming and the service is great. Highly recommend dining in and treating yourselves! As always we had a great time.

Absolutely lovely and delicious restaurant. Went with a couple of friends and no one had a complaint about their meal. I enjoyed a really yummy fried rice and the customer service was SUPERB. Workers were darling and sweet. Highly recommend!

This place brings me back to Japan. closest thing to authentic asian food you can get in Storrs CT. Has a great selection. the sushi is fresh and delish. the teriyaki dishes come out sizzling hot. Me and my friends drop hella bank here and we’re broke college students so i think that says enough.

I had a wonderful dining experience with the staff being very friendly and the food having some of the freshest ingredients I’ve ever tasted. The salmon melted in your mouth and the spicy tuna was delicious. It was my first time eating there and I’m going back next week just for the sushi alone.

This place is incredible. Not a lot of restaurants on UConn campus but this by far THE best spot. Delicious food and servers are super nice. 10/10 would recommend!

I've never had a bad meal here, and the service is always nice. I usually go for the sushi and soup, but I try other dishes from time to time.

This place has good sushi and Asian entrees. I had something called "the wet kiss" which was a sushi roll with soft shelled crab. It was wonderful. As was the miso soup and seaweed salad. The service was good. The waiter was attentive, spoke English well and wasn't overbearing. The cost is very reasonable and the food delicious. What more could you ask for?

Very happy with our order! I got the tempura appetizer, Brooklyn maki roll and California maki roll. My husband got steamed dumplings and chicken mei fun. The only complaint I have is the tempura got soggy on the way here. But we ordered from GrubHub and I kind of expected it to not make it without some condensation in the packaging. There really is no way to do it without that happening so I’d love to try it at the restaurant itself. My husband said the dumplings and mei fun were delicious. My maki rolls were so fresh. We will definitely be ordering again.

Food is great and authentic. Everything tastes nice and fresh and the servers went above and beyond for service. Definitely recommend. Nice and cozy restaurant and great tasting food.

Lots of Chinese and Japanese menu options to choose from. Our party of five selected sushi, salmon teriyaki and udon dishes.
Everything was of high quality for a reasonable price.
Waitress was very attentive.

i love this place, and even since they raised the prices, it’s still the best place around to get the most value for what i get. food’s great, staff is nice, and i appreciate how quiet it is.

My husband and I were excited to discover the Oriental Cafe where we lunched on Nov. 3, 2016. We enjoyed excellent spicy beef Pho and steamed bun appetizers. Had our first bubble tea! All of the food was terrific. Staff was extremely attentive. We definitely recommend the restaurant.

Some people write quick and to the point reviews, this is not one of those reviews so buckle up. The Oriental Cafe may be a normal Asian cuisine restaurant to most people, however, to me it is a significant amount more than that. I have been going to The Oriental Cafe since I was in 6th grade, I am now a Sophomore at UCONN and I still find myself going to this place at least once a week. I have made several life-changing decisions within the walls of this restaurant. The owners still recognize me and always say hello and still remember my usual order that I ordered almost every time 7 years ago. The staff are generally kind and efficient, the food is exceptional, especially the sushi. The wait is usually very little and the prices are decent for an every day college student. For a lot of students and locals, The Oriental Cafe is a decent sushi place, however for myself, it is my Central Perk, my JJs Diner, my Cheers and my Cafe Nervosa. If you are a student, local or are passing through, try this place and you won't be disappointed.

Oriental Cafe is a great place for Asian fusion experience. A special location with a variety of diverse options that are all provided with excellent service and friendly waitresses. A gem in Storrs, CT. Highly recommend it. Cozy and busy. Sit in or take out.

Fresh sushi made right in front of you

This is a really great sushi spot. I eat here at least once or twice a week and the sushi is always very good. The waiters are always friendly and it's nice having a place to be a regular. Highly recommend.
