King's Pointe Resort

Great spot to stay if you’re in Storm Lake, IA. Stayed here 5 nights for business. No issues. There are a few spots where the hotel could use some love, but nothing major.

Would definitely recommend staying here.

We’ve been coming here for years and always have a great time. The staff works hard to keep everyone safe and the place clean. Snack options are good but take a while when busy. Pools and slides are great and my boys (teens) always love coming here. The location right on the lake is also amazing and there are options for on-site bike and kayak rentals, the mini golf, walking trail around the lake, and a park just to the west of the hotel. We usually do a couple nights when we stay and are always happy to return.

I am no savvy traveler...but have stayed in various hotels and I can honestly say that this hotel is pretty nice. Rooms are well stocked, clean and spacious. The restaurant is also great, great menu, great portions, the personnel was amazing. Now the water park! I don't know why but this was a fun sized, clean, well cared for park. Not only did my kids (teens) enjoy, but also my wife and I.

Now, Storm Lake! We love this little town; restaurants, shops, the lake, together with a playground, beach, bike and kayak rental....its just perfect!

I enjoyed the Diving board and the slides. I have gone to every water park in Wisconsin Dells and this is cheap in comparison. It's best for locals, I wouldn't recommend driving over 2hours for this place (I drove 7) Very Kid friendly, and Hotel service is great and very helpful. It is an indoor and outdoor water park admission. Most people go after 2pm from what I noticed and spend their whole day there. It's not too crowded.

Great experience! Water park has lots to do & so much fun for all ages.The grounds, park and restrooms were clean and well stocked. The staff was friendly and very attentive. Price is very reasonable. Recommend!

This is our third visit here in 6 years. I have a 7 and 10 year old. The room isn’t fancy but it was very clean and spacious. Our view was very pretty. It was fun to open the curtains, have coffee and look out onto a pretty, but frozen lake. It was relaxing. We had a nice time at the indoor swimming area on Friday night and really enjoyed the food at the restaurant. The staff-front desk (especially Sam), wait staff and pool staff were all very polite and accommodating. Very relaxing and pleasant stay! Kids loved it-great break from the snow.

We went to Kings Pointe Resort over Father's Day weekend.
We had not gotten out of town yet this summer and thought it was the perfect opportunity to get out of town for a couple days. We traveled from Omaha so our travel time was about 2 1/2 hours.
We traveled with friends, but in our family we had three young children, 9, 7, and 4. This was a great place to take our little family. We ended up booking the queen suite Lakeview. Make sure when you're booking if you want to see the water that you select Lakeview instead of northview which I believe is the view of the parking lot. Highly recommend paying a bit extra for the view as there are balconies attached to each room with a couple chairs to let you soak in the scenery.
The rooms were clean and all the linens and bedding was nice. I will say that some things were a little dusty, but I will also say we had our door open to the balcony if anyone thinks that could contribute. It wasn't enough to bother us. The rooms come w light blankets and I was glad I had our kids bring their own blankets. The hotel staff did give us additional blankets at the front desk.
There is a nice set up in the suite we were in with plenty of cabinet space, a microwave, a nice sized mini fridge and small kitchen sink and counter space. Plenty of room for me to prep some lunch and snacks.
We did eat at the on-site restaurant one morning for their brunch buffet 12.99 per person and 4 and under were free. FYI the cost of the buffet doesn't include drinks - if anyone is it isn't used to that. Those are extra.
The water park was great, I like that it's close enough you can keep an eye on more areas than you would think. I will say I was so impressed with the lifeguards and staff at pools and waterslides. They were always watching, always moving, and taking their jobs very seriously. Kudos to the water park staff for sure.
There is also a snack shack at the waterpark where you can get snacks, alcohol, drinks, etc. You can even order a pizza if you want as there is an indoor snack shack and pool as well. We only went to the indoor pool one time and spent the majority outside, but we preferred the outdoor pools personally.
There was a trail that ran around the lake to walk along, as well as a fun beachfront and public park within a 10 minute walk..or less depending how long the people in your parties legs are. :)
All in all, we look forward to visiting again in the future and recommend this as a great family friendly option to spend a weekend or more at.

Very nice staff and clean facility. You can tell they have been working on cleaning it up recently and it looks great. Lifeguards were very attentive and friendly. Excellent price for what you get. Nice being able to leave the pool and go to your room for awhile and then return to the pool. Perfect local getaway for families with young children. Also the views of the lake are amazing. We will definitely be back!

Fun place, prepare to walk a lot as the pool is a bit of a walk from the rooms, the girls working the desk the day I went were horrible. Customer service really sucked. The night girls were great. Other than that .....was a fun time

We spent 3 nights. Enjoyed the view of the lake. Had fun in the Waterpark. Wonderful time with family and friends.

Rooms are getting older and could use some maintenance repairs. We had a weird sound in the bathroom all the time. Hubby knew if it was just a bad valve, and there was nothing that could be done, so I didn't complain. Just shut the door. Night time front desk lady Kris was a blast. She let our entire family hang out there and socialize till 2 in the morning. It was the best.

Amy the manager went so far above and beyond helping our family with our stay I can easily say she deserves a raise. Amy is an upstanding member of the Storm Lake community. My family and I can not say enough positive things about her! She absolutely made our time at King's Pointe amazing all on her own. We have never had any hotel/resort experience this good anywhere, all thanks to Amy!

Kristal at the front desk is absolutely amazing and super hospitable!! We had a beautiful suite room, the only thing is it's a bit pricey for a resort town that isn't too impressive anymore... The Tyson plant up the road doesn't smell great either. But all in all when in town we love staying here and the staff is fantastic!

A very special place to stay while in Storm Lake. It never disappoints

Love it. Everything was perfect. Good service. The only thing I'll suggest it's in the Lazy river the lifeguards should make sure that people with or without floating tubes don't stay standing-stocking in the middle doing nothing just looking for the ones comes out from the big long sliders. Especially large groups, it makes everyone get stocks waiting for then to move. If they want to just look stay outside and let others enjoy. It happened to us yesterday...several times. I think this is un respectful for others.

Sam checked us in. She went over and beyond to help us. We witnessed her doing the same for many more guests. The hotel was clean and the water park and mini golf were enjoyable for our family. We’d definitely come again.

We stayed at Kings Pointe for a family vacation this weekend and everything was great. The front desk shifts from Friday afternoon-Sunday morning we’re so accommodating and nice. The resort itself and the rooms were clean. We will stay again.

Great place to stay. Stellar and spacious rooms. Balconies are awesome. The restaurant at the resort is amazing and the staff throughout is super thoughtful and friendly. The back of the resort has great piers and lakeside attractions.

This is a nice place from the parking lot to the room. Friendly staff and our service was quick. The water park is pretty good for its size and right by the lake which is nice. The restaurants food all was good with no issues. We didn’t end up with a room with a view but maybe next time. We got a double and it was clean and orderly at check in. There was no microwave which was kind of let down for food and baby’s bottle.

Celebrating birthdays for a 10 and 13 year old. It is a great facility and downtown Storm Lake has some good retail shopping as well. We should make the 50 minute drive more often.
