Tapatio Mexican Grill

Passing through Waverly and stopped at Tapatio with a friend for lunch. Great place for Mexican food. The stake fajitas were wonderful and portions were large. Their salsa was chunky, tasted fresh and home-made. Service was friendly. Atmosphere was pleasant, and the place was clean. Lunch menu prices are very reasonable. Highly recommend.

This restaurant has such a friendly atmosphere to it. The staff were so helpful and kind, and the service was super quick! The food is A LOT, so go here if you are super hungry! It was really good, though. Really enjoyed the experience.

Taps is the go-to place for the locals. The food tastes great and comes in huge proportions. The staff is very friendly. The margaritas.... Theyre huge.. And let me tell you, they don't skimp on the tequila. Their small size is what many places consider a jumbo. I highly suggest the fajitas. They're amazing. They come out so fresh that the food is still hot and smoking. Also, if you're into face melting salsa, they give you chips and lava to munch on till you get your food.

Having just moved to Iowa in April, I was looking for a Mexican restaurant. I ordered a combo. While waiting the staff was attentive but unobtrusive. When the food arrived I was impressed. Excellent presentation, generous portions, hot and tasty. I walked out at $22 inc $4 for the server. Since then, mid May, I have returned 10 more times with that same level of service. Last Sunday I asked for the manager. When I shared the same information with him, I couldn't help but laugh at the incredulous expression. The Chicken Chipotle was the best meal I have had at any Mexican restaurant in Northeast Iowa , Southeast Minnesota . The portion size was incredible. Excellent service. A rare dining experience for sure!

Before you think we're Loco, hear us out 🤣 the chorizo queso is amazing and the BIG cheeseburger is the best that I've ate anywhere. A little guitar serenade by a youngster while waiting on our meal made our day.

I can't give it enough stars for the service. Every single team member was backing each other in every way possible. This is rarely seen in hospitality these days.

First visit and looking forward to coming back.

Everyone here is friendly and eager to serve, great salsa and the Chorizo queso dip is incredible. Seafood a la crema and the fajitas are what I always get!

We only ordered take out, but the service was great! The food was fantastic.

EVERYTHING WAS DELICIOUS! You cannot go wrong with their tacos, yum. Their smoothies are sour but still tasty. Very friendly staff.

Got some fajitas, enchilada and it was great. Plus the great costumer service I had from the young blond girl was a 5 stare. In all I noticed all of them that work there are doing their best. This is the same flavor as the restaurant I go in capital of Mexico. Great Job to all.

Wonderful food, atmosphere & service!

They have great food and big servings. Their staff and service has been good every time we've been there. The patio is large so the tables are spaced out and not crammed together.

Not pictured are the 4 corn tortillas that came with the order, but I had the pork fajitas. Delicious! Will definitely be going here again sometime.

My mom and I come here all the time and it is one of my favorite Mexican restaurants I've been in. Staff is always super nice, the restaurant is clean with a good vibe in the air (and good smells). I went here for my after-graduation lunch in May and they treated my family so well. Love Tapatio <3

The food and service were good. We had a party of 7 and got in fairly quick on a Saturday night. Any parties 8 or over they add 18% gratuity. You get 1 free refill on drinks. Chips and salsa are not unlimited like some other Mexican restaurants. But still good.

Great menu choices, the food was great for all three of us. Prices are in the $18- $25 per person. Great place

Volume inside the restaurant was quite loud which made it hard to converse at the table.

Their chorizo con queso IS THE BEST! If you like spicy salsa, you’ll love theirs. 🍅 🫑 🌶
