El Sol Mexican Restaurant

Went in after my wife's surprise birthday party with our family! Service was top-notch as always, and food was SPOT ON!! Thank you for doing your best every day!! We have never regretted choosing El Sol for a meal!!

Tortilla chips to start were warm and very good. Had the shredded beef chimichangas with guacamole, sour cream, and sauce. Excellent taste, good service.

We live in about a half hour away...if you are in the mood for Mexican food it is worth the drive to come here.

Just tried El Sol for the first time today. I will give it a 5 out of 5! The salsa is amazing & the queso is great. I had the lunch fajitas in my husband had the lunch carnitas, amazing! Would highly recommend

Fast friendly service and honestly the best fish tacos I’ve had in the state of Iowa. Portions were generous service was quick. Will stop here anytime I can because it was a great lunch

Food was awesome! The band was a bit much when trying to have a conversation with my partner but was an experience and they did a great job. I ordered a mango marg that never made it us as well as an order of queso that our waitress tried to charge us for that we never received. They were really busy though as it was Monthers day and every other place in town seemed to closed for some unknown reason. Overall I would recommend the food, the service was ok considering the waitress didn't write any of it down and tried charging for items we didn't receive so just be aware if you order anything Additional that you may have to pester them to actually get it. Double check your receipt but like I said that could also have been just a fluke because of it being packed. Delicious food tho! 😋

The shrimp and rice dish is so delicious. I love this place. The food is absolutely amazing every time! Great service too!

The fish is my favorite! The way the fried fillet and pico taste together is like magic. The mixed fajita is cooked just right! No rubber chicken or overcooked steak. My sweetheart usually gets the Colorado and he will usually share but I have to be quick!
The staff is the awesome. We love George! Thanks guys for always taking care of our crew.

I have never had a bad experience here. It's a great place to go for your birthday! The food is great & the prices are reasonable for the amount of food you get. I almost always get the fajitas. Yummy! The only downside is that when it's busy, it's very loud & echoey to the point that it's difficult to hold a conversation. Maybe some tapestries on the walls would help deaden the sound in there a little.

This is my daughter's favorite Mexican restaurant in the Cedar Valley. We love the variety of dishes and the great atmosphere. This is outside of town but a MUST STOP destination in Waverly.

Really nice service workers. The food was excellent. My cousin’s husband picked up the check so it was even more tasty. I had California Burrito. It tasted great.

So happy we stopped here for lunch. I was a bit secptical as Iowa isn't known for good Mexican. After just one visit, this is now where we will go when we want Mexican food. I got the Speedy Gonzalez lunch special (1 taco, 1 enchilada, and rice). The rice was perfect, not dried out at all. Loved the flavor of the beef. Excited to come back and try some more items on the menu.

Food was great, queso was delicious, staff was friendly, and the place was clean! We'll definitely be back!!

I like the atmosphere, service is usually very good. The food is great, I usually get the Quesadillas grilled with steak and a blended marg.

Fast service, EVERY SINGLE TIME. If you have a large or a small group, you'll usually be seated immediately and have drinks in a minute or two. Staff is friendly, inviting and tends to impress everytime we go. It's one of our favorite places to go to and we suggest it to everyone that asks for a recommendation for dinner for the night. I cannot say enough good things about El Sol... I really can't.

One of the best Mexican restaurants in the area! Staff is friendly and attentive, food is in generous servings and delicious. It's a knee jerk reaction to choose here when choosing where to eat in the area.

My dad, cousin, uncle, brother and I went here and we loved it. It was the best Mexican restaurant I have ever eaten at. The waiters are some of the nicest waiters I have ever met and they are so patient. I would totally recommend eating here as much as possible. All 5 of us ordered food and it was decently cheap, too
