Great Northern Hotel

Stayed here during our mule deer hunting trip. Although the hotel is very old and outdated it was very clean and the staff was friendly. We would stay here again in the future. The only complaint is there is no elevator and the underground parking is tight. We were able to maneuver our 1/2 ton Chevy in and out but I wouldn’t recommend a vehicle any bigger than that.

We stayed here on our tour of the west. Needed a place to stay to get off the road. Staff was very friendly. Rooms are dated but very clean. We were at end of hallway so quiet. No elevator. Cafe attached and had a good breakfast. Great economy find! Would stay again if needed in future.

Very comfy and clean place. Rooms and beds very comfortable and super clean. Nice restaurant and bar on location. Covered underground parking. Wonderful place to stay in Malta.

I had to call for a reservation, which is frustrating, but they answered the phone, which puts this establishment way above every other in the town. The staff was great. The room was clean, comfortable, and quiet. Parking was easy.

This is a SteakHouse, we split the ribeye with baked potato and roasted red pepper soup. No complaints about the food, definitely a step above. Waitress was efficient and nice. Highly recommend a stop here when passing through. Just walk in and find a seat and a waitress will find you.

Warm bed and a hot shower. The rooms were very nice. Vintage, yet we'll maintained. The parking garage under the hotel was a nice touch. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. They also have a dinner in the hotel with a great breakfast menu and a really polite and charming waitress.

The Great Northern offers good food n good lodging. And enclosed basement parking that is so nice during the cold m snowing seasons. Owner Tim hand trims each steak to his liking. Your in for a great experience at The Great Northern

I can't speak for rooms in hotel or anything, so sorry for that. We ate breakfast in the Cafe on main level and was extremely happy. Friendly service, good food, and loved the atmosphere. Thanks Again

Great place with atmosphere. Owners take great pride in their products, hospitality and food. Hand cut steaks, in house made hamburger from steak trimmings, and a breakfast that should satisfy and fill most anyone. The atmosphere changes with the seasons or when the mood strikes. Long time employees make any stay or meal a treat.

Everyone was kind and helpful. My third time here over the years and still very impressed with the staff!!!

This is a very nice hotel!!!! Very clean and quiet!!! A bar and restaurant attached!! I will definitely return!!!

Wonderful place to stay. Huge room. Very clean. Great service. Food is amazing. Check out is 11. But my husband had drill weekend n doesn't get out till later in the evening. They let's us stay in our room till he got let out in the after noon. Wonderful place. Bars are in walking distance.

Stopped in for dinner with the family and had amazing service and the whiskey steak was probably the best steak I've had in a while. Servers were so nice to my little girls. Will be our go to restaurant when we stay at sleeping buffalo near by.

I did not stay because I am a new local. I did have lunch in the cafe and it was wonderful. The food was great and the atmosphere was nice as well.

This place is an awesome stay! Rooms are newly remodeled, clean, fresh and very quiet. Breakfast was amazing too. We checked in about 8pm and I walked through the restaurant. I saw a plate of prime rib go by. OMG, looked wonderful. The staff was very friendly. What a great stay! Good basketball players come from Malta.

Anyway, if your passing through Malta and hungry, breakfast was the best I have had in awhile. Thanks GN and aMaota

Historic building but well kept.. Great bed and room! Got breakfast downstairs at the Cafe and that was amazing. Worth a little more money to stay here for sure.

Dad and I took my mom out for a birthday supper tonight at The GN. The waitress (whose service was on point and stellar as ussual) recommended the whiskey rubbed rib eye and wow! Not only was the flavor phenomenal but It was also grilled to absolute perfection. Yet again The Great Northern has proven to be one of the places in town to eat!

Great prime rib dinner. Well cooked, awesome vegetable tray, very good customer service. Affordable. Highly recommended for a Saturday night in Malta, Montana.
