John Henry's Restaurant

I’ve ordered a burger with sweet potato fries. The burger has a name but for the life of me I can’t recall it. The burger was stacked with bacon, jalapeños, cheese , lettuce, tomato and onions (some toppings are optional) the sweet potato fries were cooked to perfection and I didn’t leave too much food in the basket once I started eating. The atmosphere is welcoming, I didn’t wait too long for the food and my server was exceptional. The price is good and evidently their pizza is amazing so I may try that next time around. I would recommend this restaurant when in the Choteau area.

We were pleasantly surprised with the wide menu, food quality & reasonable prices! Driving through town with two young kids on off hours (weekday lunch), we expected basic frozen food items- but they had so many side choices, a kids menu, beer and the actual best French dip sandwich! The historic photos on the walls were very cool as well. Highly recommend it.

Great food ! Awesome service ( thank you Bailey). Very quick service, more than fair price. Chicken fried steak was delicious! Fried pickles worth a try. Also very clean restrooms. Overall 5 star experience.

My hunting buddies and I have made this a regular stop on our way out of the area after our annual hunting trip. From a tourist point of view, this is classic small-town Montana. The mood, the lighting, the decor, the music, the emergency scanner broadcasting the local fire department heading out on a call...

I remember commenting to my friends, "This doesn't look like the kind of place one orders a salad." If you like your food meaty and/or fried, this is also the place for you. Great burgers, steaks, etc. Also, if you're wondering, "gems" are just tater tots.

Great service, great beer, great food. Everything was priced well and delicious. Staff was very friendly. Great spot.

The pizza is not good to be missed here. Has had several owners over the last years but the pizza receipt has always stayed the same. Recommend the Rancher pizza and a cold smoke.

This. This is what I think of when I think of a Montana family restaurant/bar. Outstanding service, great burgers, fair prices. And the city of Choteau itself is worth visiting. I'll make the drive out here just to eat at John Henry's. Try the Alpine burger with Alpine fries.

The staff is incredibly friendly and it's good old home cooking.
You can't go wrong here. And the beer is cold.

Stopped in for lunch on our way home to Canada. Glad we did! Food was great. BLT sandwich was excellent and so was the beef dip and fries. Freshly made and hot. Staff was friendly and service was good. Check it out if you're in town!

Nice little gem of a place. I had the cheeseburger and it was delicious. The French dip was also good. I tried the sweet potato puffs or tater tots and they were great; crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. would go back again. super friendly waitress.

Great food. The lady with the blonde curly hair is a delight to talk with. Very friendly.

Very good food. My husband had the hot roast beef sandwich and I had the john Henry French dip with hand cut fries. Very good. And they have real horseradish they will bring you if you like. Service was also very good. Also their pecan and apple pie Ala mode are excellent. Would definitely eat there again.

Loved the decor, loved the menu (really big for a place that's on the cozy side). Every single person in there was outgoing, friendly, and talkative. Food was great. Anything deep fried with cheese in the middle is good by us. Extremely reasonably priced. We're hoping to pop back in on our way back through this gem of a town in a few days. Don't miss it if you have a chance to stop here!

Expect quality and quantity when ordering a burger from these guys! Their burgers are done just right, and look and taste as you would expect from the description off of the menu! I try to stop every time I go through Choteau! They also have beer on tap, and a good selection! Nothing beats am amazing burger and fries with an ice cold Brew!

The Salmon was the best I've ever had... and I am super picky and skeptical about most fish! I took the risk and was pleasantly surprised! I've eaten other meals here as well, and the new owners are doing a fabulous job!

One of two restaurants in the town - or the only option, if you come through on a day when the other restaurant was closed, as we did. Nonetheless, the service was excellent, the burgers were tasty, and the beer was local. The server was especially nice to my kids, which is always appreciated. A great place to grab a meal when heading to or from the dinosaur center in Bynum!

Great pizza and very welcoming to out of towners, unlike other restaurants in Choteau.

Steaks were very tender and one of the best salads I have eaten out. The service was great and food came out pretty quickly considering they were packed. Thanks for the nice experience.
