We heard great things about this place and made a reservation a day in advance. It was hard to find parking for it, and It was busy, which we were expecting. What we weren't expecting was an indifferent greeting, and then being told it would be a wait to be seated. We were able to sit at the bar while we waited for a table, which took about 20-25 minutes after our original reservation time. From the reviews, it doesn't seem to be a trend, but it felt like there was a lack of organization when we initially came, and the greeting could've been influenced by how hectic it was, but it wasn't the greatest first impression, to say the least.
That aside, the two bartenders were outstanding and made up for it. Both were friendly, and the drinks were top-notch and came out quickly. When we were seated at a table and the food arrived, it was easy to see why people rave about the place. Everything we ordered came quickly and was delicious. We had the butternut squash ravioli and the standard burger. Wings and rings as sides.
All that said, I'd still recommend placing a reservation. The food is worth it!

Copper Kettle serves up culinary delights! From mouthwatering cheese curds & wings to tantalizing entrees, every bite is a treat. Don't miss their Moscow mule from the impressive cocktail menu. A must-visit for foodies!

The salmon and the wings were great. Our server was very friendly and personable. The cheese curds were alright, the dessert was amazing. This establishment has great aesthetics and good spacing between tables. Great spot for a good lunch and drink

Atmosphere and burgers were great! Service was wonderful too, always there with refills. Wasn't a huge fan of the pork belly and kimchi sliders, though, but will be back to try more!

We stopped in for dinner after a brief visit to the city before heading back to Lake Geneva, where we were staying. I found this gem on the Google Maps app, and after reading the reviews, I thought to give it a try. We were not disappointed at all.
The service was quick and great. The food was pretty good as well. I ordered the BLT with extra bacon and the truffle fries...😋 My husband had the gyros, and he loved it. The food came out quickly and tasted fresh.
It was quiet and quaint...
I would definitely recommend stopping by for a bite..

My favorite restaurant in Dubuque, hands down. This is a neighborhood bar with an amazing kitchen and fabulous drinks. Typical American fare, with burgers, salads, steak, chops, etc. My last visit, we started with the Barbecue Chicken flatbread ($12), which can easily be an entree! Absolutely fantastic! For a main course, I went with the classic beer battered Fish & Chips ($19) with home made coleslaw and garlic mashed potatoes. The portion sizes were perfect, and everything was cooked to perfection. The entree came with a wonderful little house salad that was delicious! For desert, chocolate cheesecake! We also had some amazing drinks from the bar. Not a cheap meal, but worth every penny.
The interior itself is amazing! You really feel at home in this place. It's an interesting blend of French bistro and American corner bar, and it works very well.
Be advised that the Copper Kettle is very popular, especially on the weekends, and I highly recommend making reservations in advance, as it's a small dining room that fills up quickly.
Since it REALLY is a neighborhood corner bar, be advised that there is NO parking lot...you'll have to park on the street, so plan accordingly. I've not had any problems with this, but you might have to walk a block or two to get to the restaurant depending on the time you arrive.
HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION!

My family visited Dubuque for a four-day getaway, and this was one of my favorite spots! The Gyro was delicious, and my brother says the burgers are even better. Shout out to Ruby for the great service, too. Will be back some day!

Always a favorite! Great food, great service, great selection on drinks as well. Connie is my favorite waitress, she is wonderful! When friends or family come to visit the main place I recommend is Copper Kettle. Seating is limited, allowing great service and quality control for each table. I’ve has almost everything on their menu, and no complaints. Street parking, but have never had any trouble finding a spot.

One of my favorite local places to eat. We tried to dine in at a couple places back at the end of May while my parents were visiting me but due to covid a lot were carry out only. We were actually driving down the road and happened to see a sign advertising I and gave a ring, not too hopeful at this point.. but they were open for dine in! Food and service is incredible. Very clean and modern looking inside. Cheese curds were out of this world. We ate too many before I decided to snap a photo so thats why the plate is half empty. My mom had the Gyro and I had a burger. Fried egg included on top and upgraded to the truffle fries. So so so good. Would absolutely recommend this to anyone who swings by Dubuque.

The BEST chicken wings I've ever had. Super juicy and saucy! Got the Buffalo wings, chicken sandwich, and cheese curds. The cheese curds are crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside. The chicken sandwich was so good we got a second one to go!
DEFINITELY RECOMMEND TO ANYONE IN THE AREA!!!!

Traveling thru town and happened upon this place. Tucked away in working class neighborhood the place was clean and decorated well. Food and Service great. Old old Brewery across the street. Thought it was a church.

The cocktails were amazing. The cheese curds I loved. The ribeye was pretty good, not great. Mashed potatoes I liked. There weren't any desert options that we wanted but that wasn't a big deal. Overall a good experience and I'll go back.

Delicious food and great service!
Steak Bites-very tender and juicy, served with toasted bread. Prince Edward Island Blue Mussels very garlicky and in a really good broth served with toasted bread. American Burger was really good the Pecan Smoked Bacon was tasty, with side of White Truffle Parmesan Fries that are a must try.
Nice atmosphere.
Open kitchen area allows you to see the great chefs at work; like the open concept, nothing to hide.
We stopped in 3:30-4:00 and got a table right away, but it started filling up quick. It's not huge inside, but plenty of room for groups of 2-4 people with booths and small high tops but a few 6+ groups came in and that seemed more challenging.

This neighborhood spot is off the beaten path but well worth going out of your way. The menu is fun and diverse and the food is delicious. Love all the historic photos of the neighborhood displayed throughout the restaurant.

This is a little gem snuck in a residential neighborhood. Steeetside parki g and if tou cant find a spot, then there is a wait.
While you wait fkr a table or booth, slide up to the bar fkr an extensive line of rare adult beverages. Once your table is ready, sit back, enjoy it and soak in the aira.Rustic atmosphere, indie vibe.
Excellent menu for adults. Not a mind numbing selection but each plate is expertly made. Quality ++ food !! 👌🏻
Have enjoyed this hidden hideout for years. Now it's your turn.
