A nice little local museum with a lot of good exhibits. This place is home to the most complete dinosaur fossil ever found. They also have cool exhibits about local history, including westward expansion and a "crime family" that terrorized the area for years like something out of a movie! All for a price that's very palatable and made even more so if you visit the neighboring dinosaur museum to qualify for a package discount.

There's very little to do in Malta, so if you're here for a day or two, this is your only option - and it's a good one!

This is a great museum. Lots of period displays and local history. I've been there a few times when I'm in town waiting for the train. If you are seeing this review, waiting for a late train, bored and looking for activities in the area, give this museum and the one across the parking lot a try. They are a block from the station, and a fun way to spend the time. Ive even brought clients here while they waited, and they've brought their friends in after their tour. It's really that good!

Very interesting! History of Phillips County, Missouri River, cowboys, Indians, outlaws, rocks, dinosaurs, deer mounts. So much more.

Very impressive with great attention to detail. Dinosaurs, Native Americans, early settlers and outlaws. The exhibits are well done and very informative. The staff was very knowledgeable and ready to help. I wish we had more time. Plan on a couple hours to see it properly.

Amazing for a small museum. Not often do you get guns used in train robberies, outlaw journals, Native American artifacts, complete dinosaur skeletons, and old west artifacts in a town of 2000 with a rather smallish museum. Although for the size of the town the museum is huge.

Famous dinosaur digs are in the area and Leonardo the Mummysaur makes stays here occasionally as this is where it was found. Hey the Museum of Natural Science in Houston and the Discovery channel fought to get their hands, or lenses on Leonardo. The replica stays in Malta and sometimes I hear Leonardo even makes an appearance.

Nice surprise to find this museum which has bones discovered nearby of a smaller plant eating dinosaur. They have named him Elvis. A lot of Western artifacts and fossils also here.
