C D's 4 Change

Excellent local record shop! Owner pays attention to his stock, so things are priced pretty fairly across the board. Also pays the fairest prices for collectible records in town, imo.

What really has me coming back is his focus on METAL. LOTS AND LOTS OF METAL. Genre selection is great in general, but METAL. 🤘🤘🤘🤘

This place is awesome. John, the owner, is a hidden gem of Dubuque. This place is becoming one of the true cultural hubs of Dubuque; cultural hubs in Dubuque are getting rarer and rarer. This place has managed to remain pure to the look and feel of an indie record store and still stay relevant in a modern market, unlike other indie record stores in the area. The staff is pretty cool and even tolerate a mild level of shenanigans in the store.
John's the kinda guy that gives you the hoodie off his back, so you can ride your motorcycle home in the cold, on nothing but a promise you will bring it back by the store. Good dude. Solid dude. Good selection. And, truly a love of talking music and swinging around their cutural elitist penises. This is probably one of the only stores you'll find around here that mirror a real life 'Empire Recoreds' or 'High Fidelity' type vibe. If you haven't seen those movies, good news: John can probably order them for you!

Owner is an awesome dude! Reasonably priced on just about everything and very helpful! Also an amazing selection of botanical teas at reasonable prices! Everywhere else price gouges the hell out of their products but not John! I have become a regular here. Just an awesome small business shop all the way around!

This is a great place to browse for and buy records. The name is somewhat of a misnomer; while there are many CDs available, the real draw is the vinyl. The store boasts a great collection of new and used inventory, much of it hard to find. John, the owner, is as friendly and welcoming as they come and always has great suggestions to turn you on to new stuff. He does not put out any used record that is not in good shape. It’s important to support quality brick and mortar record stores while we still have them! I can highly recommend this one.

Always a great experience visiting CDs 4 Change, they really have everything you're looking for in music. If, by chance, they don't have it on hand , the owner John will find it for you. The employees are very friendly and helpful , and my wife and I love swinging through here.

Considering how young the employees are , they are very knowledgeable when it comes to vynil records. I was amazed at their new and used selections. They have nice turntables too and lots of cd's and other things. Check it out.

CD's 4 Change is legit. Been going there since I was a kid. They have a great selection of music from vinyls, cds and more! Their miscellaneous items are always good too. Service is always friendly.

Incredibly eclectic and high quality selection of vinyl, cassettes, and CDs. I travel to record stores all over the country and this was among the more interesting I've been to. Highly recommended.

CD's for change has been around since I was a little kid. Throughout the years this has been my go to for new and used cassettes to vinyl to CDs and even vape supplies. I sell alot of albums to John as well and he is very fair with his offers. CDs for change is the best stop in the area for music

Definitely one of the better selections I’ve seen at a record store. Found a LOT of things I’ve never even seen elsewhere. Very helpful and courteous staff. Will be back there again.

Just checked out this spot for the first time and were blown away by the inventory and experience we had. They have something for literally everyone. Quit sleeping on this place!

There's something for everyone here. All genres of music! AND also in the store is CBD products, Vape refills and a vast selection of "tobacco" pipes/bowls/bongs! 👍

Vinyl, Cd's, Cassettes, DVDS, everything I ever thought should be in a good record store are there. Owner is very knowledgeable and has a wide selection.
