Inferior coverages hidden in the policy details!!! We selected Walcott Mutual when we purchased our home in an attempt to keep our purchase local (keep our money in Iowa), and this ened up being a mistake. We were impacted by the hail storm of '20. Natural disasters are difficult on communities and families and when they occur, you expect your insurance provider to step up. Relative to all of my neighbors (who all have national issurance providers), my experience with Walcott Mutual and my policy are both inferior. While I watch my neighbors home be made whole, Walcott fights every step of the way. While my neighbors receive full replacement, I get a partical replacement. Additionally, they low ball the replacement costs so I cannot get anyone to do the work. I feel completely abandoned by Walcott Mutual. When it comes to insurance, buying local is not a good idea. Go with a national brand, not Walcott.
