Burg & Barrel - Overland Park

Stopped in for lunch with a friend. Sat at the bar, the bartender was fun and chatty which I love. It wasn't packed but it was definitely busy. My husband is not a mushroom fab so it was a treat to be dining with someone who loves them like I do! We started off with drinks and fried mushrooms, they were huge and so good. We were deciding on lunch and both torn between the Baby Bella Burger and the Hand Battered Chicken Tenders by suggestion from the bartender we ordered both and split it. The burger was so good and flavorful, I'm a no bun gal and the burger was still amazing, juicy and delicious. The Chicken Tenders were next level! Not only were they perfectly battered but huge! The order came with four and we each had one with our burger half. I am the lucky one who got to bring home the leftover tenders and fries. The fries are fresh and delicious. If you're out in the KC area this location was in Overland Park, go check them out. Do not sleep on this spot! Tons of beer choices and the food menu has something for everyone!

I live down the street and have gotten carry out a handful of times. My experience has not always been the best, and I feel like I have always given the place a little bit of grace because I order carry out and not dine in.

My order and experience was exceptional. I really wanted a few things so I got fish and chips, a burger, which then came with both fries and tater tots, and I ordered an Appetizer of fried mushrooms.

The fried mushrooms were fried to perfection, and came with a ranch dipping sauce, which was awesome, which was house made. The hamburger which I ordered the meat to be medium was 100% medium cooked and was delicious. The tater tots were crispy, the fish and chips was delicious. The fish was perfect. The only thing I missed for the fish and chips was tartar sauce. When I got to the restaurant, I somehow felt like they would have missed the malt vinegar so I specifically asked for a side of malt vinegar which they gave me, but then there was no tartar sauce. So honestly if I would have not requested the malt vinegar, sadly, there would have been no malt vinegar and no tartar sauce. At least I got the malt vinegar. Everything else was awesome and my to go experience today was finally the experience that I wanted to have with this restaurant.

We are on the hunt for a gourmet burger joint in KC and Burg & Barrel is on our short list. Bartender Dave was our server and he made several recommendations. The wife got the PB&E and I got the Smokehouse.

They have Gluten free buns for their burgers. And a huge selection of beers.

The burgers are huge and tasty. They are VERY accommodating with customizing. The tots were just crisp and not burnt.

(Updated). 2nd visit. 2 more burgers. Wife had the mushroom swiss and I had the bourbon glaze. Both were very tasty. She had the loaded tots. Claimed they tasted like loaded potato skins.

(Updated 230318). 3rd visit. Still love this place. Just wish there was one on the north side of the river

(Updated 230804). One more time. This time had the El Diablo, no bun, no onion rings and added a medium egg. Delicious

(Updated 240317) Woke up craving a burger. Had to drive to the south side to get one (hint hint). Had the spicy avocado burger, no bun with an egg on top. Wife had the Upstream BLT on the GF bun. Great as normal. Just wish they had one up in Parkville or Zona..

The food here is SO good! The sandwiches are huge! I definitely recommend the beer battered onion rings.

Really great food - lots of burger and sandwich options. It doesn’t look like much from the outside but the food and service was great.

The family and i decided to try something new. This place hands down has great food. The best part of our experience was a waiter named Julian, he was polite, accurate, and prompt. You could tell Julian took pride in his job and did it well, you could tell he genuinely cares… keep up the good work Julian and thank you for such a great experience for the family and I.

Loaded tot appetizer was like eating everything you shouldn’t all mixed together, and it tastes so good for just those reasons.
Battered onion rings were crispy and are worth ordering; may be a worthy top onion ring contender. The El Diablo Burger was was quite nice, although I felt like it relied too much on hot sauce for its spiciness.
Overall, Burg & Barrel is a restaurant worth trying, and possibly visiting again to try different things on the menu.

Burg and barrel is a great place to go when you want to grab some great food and drinks out with friends and family. The quality of the food is always far better than the average "bar food" and their staff are always friendly and quick to help.

Random stop for some dinner. We were very impressed! The place is very eclectically decorated (a ceiling with hundreds of tap handles!). The food was excellent, the staff very courteous, efficient and took great care of us. Most of the fried items are hand-breaded with their Flying Monkey beer batter and were very tasty. The onion rings especially! The burgers were great-sized and very nicely cooked. We tried the bacon-wrapped asparagus to start - and asparagus is one of the 3 foods I really don't eat. They were DELICIOUS. Grilled, then wrapped with bacon and briefly deep-fried. And let's not forget the chewy pretzel topped in chocolate and ice cream! PERFECT meal ender. To top it off, I mistakenly left my credit card, and 2 days later they had it and I got it back with 0 issues. Great experience and we'll definitely be back!

I always enjoy this place! It is one of my favorite burger joints in KC area. Food is fantastic, with a variety of burgers to choose from (spicy avocado this time). Whether I’m with the boys or with the family, it’s always a great choice. Niw lemme tell ya about all the beers…👍🏼

Our server, John, was one of the top 5 best servers I've ever had! The food was great, The Horsefeather cocktail was phenomenal and we will definitely be back!

First time visit for us! Burgers were good sized and well worth it. The onion rings were the bomb! Fun decor and pleasant staff. I didn’t know there were so many types of beer!

From the pretzels - crispy outside, soft and chewy inside - our meal started well and finished awesome. Husband had chicken nachos and I swear his chips had to have been fried fresh this same day. I went for fried cod with onion rings and both items had such a light, crispy batter I almost felt like I was having tempura. Delicious. We sprang for the bourbon bread pudding with ice cream for dessert and I was so impressed with the crispy edges on the bread pudding. I think they must have warmed it up on a griddle similar to french toast. Whatever they did, it was bliss. Wait staff were diligent and courteous, including the competent trainee that helped attend our table. We can't wait to go back.

Very good as always! David behind the bar was delightful. Fried pickles were surprisingly delicious! Free with online coupon!! Chimichurri wrap was good just a little more garlic than usual but still tasty as was the upstream blt! Bread pudding excellent but a little more bourbon would make it more fun!!
Great happy hour on Tuesdays 2-6. Everything behind the bar half off!

For people who aren't too picky on their flavors, ask for the Ray Charles special - server reaches into the fridge and brings you whatever bottle he touches first. Fun and upbeat wait staff, cool pub-style decor (be sure you look up to see the retired taps nailed to the rafters). Will go again!

I got the chicken caprese sandwich and side salad. They were so good. Hubby got the avocado burger and fries. He liked them both. He comes for business lunches frequently and loves the PBE burger. Our server was so sweet and quick to respond. Would recommend.

Good burgers and beer choices. Fries are really good. Love the atmosphere and service. There is a beer here for everyone. Food was out quick and no issues. I would recommend Cowboy burger or the smokehouse. Good times.

10/10 would recommend to anyone. Good burgers, good atmosphere. kinda out of the way, in a cute little strip mall. Had one small mistake with our order and the manager went above and beyond. Amazing!!!
