Urban Prairie Coffee

To be upfront... My mom said I should never use the word "hate." So, I "severely dislike" coffee. But I love this cafe! I never would have thought to stop in if not for being next door at Mission: Board Game and wanting a snack. The door is open between the two, and they make for a great combination.

Even though board games drew me in the first time, I will certainly be back for the grinds (aka food). The "farm-to-table" ingredients are every bit as tasty as you'd hope. The sandwiches and breakfast items we ate were masterfully prepared, and the ones in the case that we haven't yet tried look just as delicious. Finally, the prices were perfectly reasonable.

Quiche is 10/10! Also ordered a house cold brew, which was good. Very cute location that opens up to the neighboring board game store!

This is a charming little spot on Johnson Drive, and I would come here more often if I spent more time in this part of the world. I was here between appointments, riding out a rain storm, so I just got a chai and enjoyed the quiet for awhile.

Indeed, the dining area off to the side was so quiet that we felt the need to whisper in order to avoid disturbing the people concentrating on drawing, writing and the like. So that part of the place might be better suited for people on their own rather than folks who want to have a conversation.

The coffee shop also shares an interior door with Mission Board games, so if you want a good beverage and some tabletop fun, you're definitely in the right place.

Cute spot. Plenty of places to sit & enjoy your coffee + treats. They use Scratch Bakery for there treats & I love, love, love that. The vanilla bean scone is hands down the best! The French toast latte is 🔥 too! They are connected to mission games too so you can stop in & support them while you’re there too.

Food was so good!! My barista Kennedy whipped me up the best breakfast burrito i’ve had in a while!!! My drink was also incredibly refreshing and delicious. This is definitely a come again!!

Great, unique autumn flavors if you're tired of the generic pumpkin spice! Also a great place to read a book on a beautiful day like today 🌈☀

Cute little coffee shop on Johnson Drive. They seem to be a busy place as when I went there, it was packed.
Service was great. Coffee is good. Avocado toast...delicious.

I recently found this place because I've decided I'm no longer going to starbucks. I absolutely love the staff and the atmosphere. The entire place is so cute and unique. You never have to wait too long for your order and everyone is very accommodating if you forget to ask for something. It's also so cool because it's connected to a board game store. This is my new go to because it's quick and always worth the trip. They have all the high quality syrups and can make you any drink. I do want to say that I wouldn't be opposed to a little bit more syrup or spice on my food or in my drinks, BUT they're flavor is still way ahead of bigger brand stores. The vibe is great, so add this to your morning routine!

Love this place! Their coffee is my favorite and their quiches are sooo delicious. I love the rotating menu and the atmosphere. And the staff is always friendly!

Urban Prairie Coffee is a terrific daytime pitstop when you're looking for a little pick-me-up. I had a very creamy, yummy iced mocha. Both of my friends said that their sandwiches were very good.

I also like the cute pillows strewn about along with the hanging plants and colorful mural. The shop opens and closes early, so this is a better option for morning working/studying.

Great place to meet with laptops for work or to chat with friends. You can also play board or card games next door. Coffee was great!

New favorite! Bright, airy, friendly folks, allergy-friendly options…and lots of beautiful plants. Where even the shadows are cool. Super busy, good for them. ☕

Amazing coffee shop with loads of options. I got a honeycomb latte with oat milk and a sweetened mango tea. Loved all the options, and the attached board game business. (Mission board games). Cute, quaint, and everything you want in a coffee shop. Baristas were friendly and helpful!

I love a good vanilla latte, and the Urban Prairie Coffee version is one of my favorites. The espresso is smooth and flavorful, and the steamed milk is perfectly frothy. The vanilla syrup is added in just the right amount, so that the sweetness is not overpowering. The overall effect is a well-balanced and enjoyable drink that is perfect for any time of day.

Delicious coffee and fantastic staff. The shop is gorgeous, with a homey atmosphere and both indoor and outdoor seating. Will definitely be coming back

Best bacon burritos in KC , love this place , only thing they need to replace front door handle it feels full of grease , other than that it’s a great place !

Looking for a neighborhood coffee shop and glad I saw this one close to work!

This was one of the better coffee shops we visited. The coffee drinks had a strong coffee flavor and the vibe was very welcoming and chill. Along with the drinks they had great merch and being attached to a game store was a big plus for extended visits! I want to go back!
