The Snack Shack on Johnson Drive

Tried The Snack Shack today it was pretty good and inexpensive yet by no mean bland in flavor. The service was both friendly and quick though they don't have a huge selection it's perfect if you're looking just for a burger and some fries and maybe something sweet with not a lot of time. I tried an Oreo chocolate malt, tenderloin and a single hamburger with cheese all in all would definitely give this place a try.

Great fast food with an old school atmosphere. The seating is limited but it adds to the charm. The burgers, tenderloin, fries, and onion rings were great. I didn’t sample everything but people around me seemed like they were enjoying their food.

Tried this a couple weeks back and I’m sitting here thinking about it so yeah it’s def memorable. Thin laces of beef topped with melted cheese. The buns are fluffy and perfect and the service is great to boot. All around, yes for me.

Amazing find. Food was great, hot and fresh. Service was friendly and exactly what you want. Atmosphere was just like an old fashioned diner. Incredible. The cherry limeade with like sherbert was the best I've ever had, and I've had one every chance I get.

Just like a old-fashion diner, one of the gems in in the kc metro. I had the mushroom Swiss burger with an order of fries. Didnt have time during the day so I had my lunch at 5pm after route. The pictures and sayings on the wall kept me entertained until my food was ready. If you like old school diners this place is for you. Definitely worth the stop

One of our favorite places in town, burgers are delicious! Staff is always friendly, and they do a great job working fast to keep up with the crowd. I lost a wallet there one night and they kept it for me until I came back the next day, nothing missing. We love you snack shack!

definitely be coming back. The burger meal and fried was great. The fries are big and crispy. The burger meat is so tender and juicy just melts in your mouth! Add a shake to your meal, the Oreo shake was great, and you can choose chocolate or vanilla base ice cream. Looking forward to coming back next time I’m close by.

Best burger in Johnson county for sure. Great fries and onion rings. The Malts are really good as well! I regular this place with my wife and we always love their service and food.

Came here for a lazy Sunday lunch and it hit all the spots. We tried their hotdog with grilled onions and jalapeño, and really enjoyed the simplicity of it all. While we prefer the bratwurst sausage, this weiner dog was delicious, and I really enjoyed the bread roll instead of the standard hotdog bun.

The fries and onion rings were good, and the vanilla malt shake was delicious. It’s a cute setup and the service was quick. Good prices as well.

Look. This place is hands down one of the best burger places in Kansas City. The root beer float and the cherry limeade were phenomenal as well. The Snack Shack pays attention to the history of retro diner style fast food and excels at it. Please take time out to visit this place and try it for yourself!

Not only was the cheeseburger I was served a perfect example of a smashburger, but the charming interior decor makes you feel like you've taken a ride in a time machine back to the 1950s. There's a very nice family-friendly vibe going on. Highly recommend.

Snack Shack on Johnson Drive has been in business for over 70 years; it has had New Owners for the past 6 months, who are reviving making one of the Best Hamburgers in the Area ! Their fries and onion rings are Delicious, too ! Vegan Burger is Tasty ! They offer a variety of beverages from pop to cherry limeade with real lime sherbert to chocolate shakes. Busy place, but you can take out. Made to order burgers, hot dogs and a vegan burger. Clean, Efficient, Friendly and Well Organized. CLOSES AT 3 PM ON SATURDAYS. Good portions. Very tasty. Quaint, tiny, oldies diner vibe. Excellent smash burger and a damn good crispy chicken sandwich.

When I walked in, I already fell in love with 70-80s vibes. I ordered “Mushroom Swiss” & it was soooo good! The onion rings was super crispy as well. The service was good, quick, & friendly!

I live north of KC about an hour. I was in the first time with my sister a couple of weeks ago. Had a cheese burger and fries. Had some of her malt. I have been back once. But I crave the cheese burgers!!! Best burger I have ever had!! Beats In and Out, What A Burger, and Smash Burger!!! And I am picky about hamburgers. I am in Love, just wish you had one closer ❤❤🎈

Delicious food! Young but friendly and professional staff and they can cook! Has a 50s-60s vibe to it. The only thing I didn't like was the restroom was outside and down some stairs.

In my opinion, this is the best quick-dining burger in KC. The patty is thin and crispy on the edges while still being very flavorful and juicy. The toppings and bread are always fresh and tasty, and I love the rustic, old-fashioned fries and perfectly crunchy onion rings. It’s a cozy little place inside and can get pretty full at peak lunchtime, but it’s always worth it because it’s perfect and delicious food every time.

We recently tried this place and boy were we missing out! The burgers are so good. Very small place so we mostly do take out. The shakes are so good. Reasonably priced. Overall a good place for some burger and fries!
