A MUST STOP! I know what you are thinking "Jamaican food... in Kansas?!" Yes absolutely yes! We cleaned the meat off the bones of the Curry Goat and the Jerk Chicken. Best meal I have had since leaving California 3 days ago. I met one of the owners and she was incredibly nice. The onion rings were also delicious.

The steamed cabbage was surprisingly delicious, and the rice and peas were a delight. The restaurant's ambiance radiated authenticity, immersing me in Jamaican culture. My wife and I had an appointment in Salina and stopped in for lunch and had the best Jamaican food we’ve had anywhere! Jerk chick and BBQ pork were exceptional, and the cabbage and rice and beans were spiced/aromatic to perfection. An absolute must visit!

Family-owned and operated. We drove in from Wichita to eat here based on all the wonderful reviews. I ordered the jerk tacos. The owner explained they would be spicy, yet, he went out of his way to make them a little less spicy for my taste. Absolutely delicious! The dumplings.. YUM! Reminds me of funnel cake except better! Thank you for recommending the honey for dipping. The loaded jerk fries, Amazing! This place is truly Authentic. Takes me back to the beaches in Jamaica. Fabulous.

Had the curry chicken delivered via Uber Eats and I have to say it was FANTASTIC. Chicken was nice and moist, great flavor, carrots and everything was stewed to perfection. Cabbage was fantastic as well. It was a welcome surprise, especially as a trucker
First time having Jamaican too and I'm in love

I'll definitely order again next time I'm in the area, I'd love to see more selections on Uber Eats too from your menu

Lovely all around ❤

If you’re thinking of eating anywhere else right now, stop; eat here instead.

The food at Auntie Rita’s has no competition in the entire state of Kansas. Everything is top quality: from the cooking (meats so tender they slide off the bone), to the flavors (I cried from joy after my first bite), to the service (always a welcoming smile from everyone behind the counter). And as if that wasn’t enough, they’ve also got the only tap in all of Kansas pouring Red Stripe beer. Red Stripe was made to be enjoyed with this perfect food.

When I stumbled upon this place, I couldn’t believe it. I would eat here every day if I could.

Edited to add: they have the best cabbage side I’ve ever eaten. And curry goat is the GOAT.

Prompt, friendly service. They recommended bar-b chicken or pork since we said we didn't want anything too spicy. We shared a bar-b pork with rice and cabbage, plus a side of plantains. Yummy food and large portions. We had enough leftovers for a Jamaican picnic lunch the next day. Good value.

Had to make a stop at Auntie Rita’s while I was passing through. My first time visiting this restaurant I had the oxtail which was a dream. Meat sliding off the bone and a collagen treat.

This time I ordered the jerk chicken tacos and was not disappointed. The shell is amazing - tougher than a tortilla but delicious. Each taco is stuffed to the brim with chicken and topped with pineapple.

Auntie Rita’s food is made to order. This means it takes a little longer for your food to come out but it’s the freshest way to serve it. There are some items on the menu like the pasta that take 45+ minutes but I’m sure are well worth the wait.

When you go, make sure you get some of the homemade lemonade. Delicious! If you want to drink something more adult, Auntie Rita’s serves Red Stripe along with American beers.

Lots of seating provided in the restaurant and some TV’s to watch sports. Want to play some music? There’s a jukebox.

This spot is somewhere I’ll be coming back to whenever I’m in town.

This is such a great surprise in Kansas. I’m just passing through and was not expecting to find a Jamaican restaurant near my hotel. Stop in and try it - it’s delicious and super friendly! For anyone who hasn’t traveled/lived internationally, culturally diverse experiences like this are what makes America awesome. Pork tacos are legit!

Only visiting Salina for a bit. Out of 9 days here, I've eaten at this place twice. It is THAT good and authentic. I've never felt like I was given too much food from anywhere. But here...you get a lot of food.

Amazing service, great location, great staff, amazing owner, informative. Along with the greatest tacos I've ever had. The Jerk Chicken tacos. I'll be back definitely to try more items. (Ask for it extra hot if you like it real hot). Wish Auntie Rita would open a restaurant in my hometown in NM. We have too many Mexican restaurants down there anyway. Thank you auntie next time I'm in there and I see you Rita, you Auntie for now on.

Kansas is slowly accumulating a set of excellent Jamaican restaurants. One in Leavenworth, one in Junction city, and now this place… Perhaps of the three, this was the best flavor. I arrived late, so several of their menu items had run out, but the oxtail was off the chains, mind blowing… Somewhere between excellent and perfect. It was served with a generous portion of rice and cabbage, and had a flavor that was nothing short of fascinating. I usually use my trips as a way of trying many different restaurants, but I suspect that I will be back here tomorrow night!

Ordered chicken curry, my husband ordered Ox Tail for his first time ever (he was scared), kids had chicken strips and our baby got the mac n cheese.... EVERY SINGLE ITEM was AMAZING!! My husband ate all his oxtail. And we both helped eat the mac n cheese, which was the best mac n cheese I've had anywhere! And I've had some really delicious mac n cheese! The chicken curry was on the bone and a sweet curry, super delicious and melted off the bone.... the cabbage was good too, like a cooked/heated coleslaw. A great experience!

Oh, and we had to get a second order of plantains to go, because I ate the whole first order solo and didn't share.

We love Auntie Rita’s !
The food is awesome and the place is authentic and comfortable.
