What a great place for people of all ages. You begin with a little advice from a lovely person at the front desk. She goes through how to tour, which direction and what keys things to look for. You travel at your own speed and for me... watching the families entertain and educate their kids at the same time. Side note - those of you that remember the old radio shows, can sit and enjoy them laughing at the dumb jocks like I did. Be ready to spend at least a couple hours enjoying going back to a quieter time.

Great museum with lots of local history. Free entry, and plenty of hands on exhibits with props and touchables for kids. Staff was very friendly and genuinely enjoyed explaining the museum upon entry. Museum is located in beautiful art decco themed former post office from the 30s.

We always go on Thursday. It is our day. We love the scavenger hunts, the games and even the light bright wall has a special place in our time at the museum. Learning the history is easy when you start early and go often.

Our granddaughters asked to go here today based on previous outings from school. That speaks volumes in it's self. There's allot of effort and attention to detail in the exhibits. Chandra gave a warm introduction and another staffer pointed out some neat items of interest. Thanks.

I enjoyed this visit; I have not been in the museum for several years. There is a permanent exhibit called "The Curiosity Shop" that is of interest to all ages. It includes a mock-up of tornado tracking and a tornado chamber. There is also an old pin-ball machine that you can play, which brought back memories. The main exhibit (which changes twice a year) is currently about homesteading in Kansas and the immigrants that settled here. Particularly interesting was how freed men and women were encouraged to settle in Kansas.

Nice interactive museum for big and little kids. Can't beat the price. Weekday I'm sure is the best time if you want to enjoy the exhibits and not feel rushed

My little human and his mom was not thrilled to hear we were going to a museum, but once we got there they didnt want to leave. They have a bunch of hand on activities for the kids and my big human also loved the hands on exhibits they have. Did I mention it was free you cant beat free we spent 2 hours in the museum. If your looking for something free to do I recommend the Smokey Hill Museum!(they have a old freeplay pinball machine)

The best museum I think I've ever been to ! Interactive, informative, and so very well put together. Also it is Free ! Friendly knowledgeable staff too ! A must see kind of place ! Larger RVs and motorhomes should use satellite views to find parking in the area large enough to accommodate.

My kid loves visiting here, and we do so often. The changing exhibit is always interesting, and the permanent ones can be alot of fun. The giant litebrite and radio area for kids is a definite favorite for kids.

Totally enjoyed the experience learning the history of Salina and the surrounding area. I was born in Salina but only lived here briefly as an infant so this was special to me.

Very friendly staff who were helpful and the museum was awesome to see if your a first time visitor to the Salina area. I would like to go back again only because we were on a time crunch and I wasn’t able to see and read everything in there. Definitely will come back again.

Great little museum! Visited with my boys, 8 and 6 while camping at Kanopolis. We spent 3 hrs here and only 3 because they were closing!😆 The tornado exhibit is really cool and was enjoyed by all 3 of us. My 8 yr old loved the log cabin. Definitely recommend stopping if you're in the area!
