Sedgwick County Park

When I want to go to a place to walk my dogs, run, walk with my kids, or have my kids play on a park. I take them to Sedgwick County Park

I have been coming to this park for over 35 years.

The paved paths a great. On the west side the paths are shaded with some mature trees, and they have a thick wooded area you can go for a nature walk if you wish.

My two kids love Sunrise Park!

Wichita’s finest westside park, just north of Ridge Road, accessible from either 21st or 13th. This park area is massive and is loaded with playgrounds, paved paths and dirt trails, and multiple lakes and ponds that can be fished or just admired along with the surrounding wildlife. The park is well kept and has enough parking even for the busiest of days. There are rentable enclosed shelters and many benches, grills, and open shelters that are all free for visitors. There’s plenty of courts for tennis, basketball, and pickle ball, as well as softball fields and sledding hills. Sedgwick County Park has it all for Wichita and I give it my highest recommendation.

This is a huge park. There are several shelters you can reserve for get togethers and events. Home to the Riparian Woodland Nature Trail. A great place to walk and observe, appreciate and enjoy nature. Trout fishing spots (stocked) as well as pond/lake fishing. Large RC car track (off road style). A fantastic place to take photo portraits, senior pictures, wildlife, and landscape photography. Highly recommend visiting!

Wonderful place to run, walk, rollerblade, or just have fun and play outside. Love this park! Very well kept. Bring the whole family to enjoy nature and the outdoors. The shelters are the perfect setup for family reunions or any size group gathering.

Good place. You can have your ME time here. Even if there's crowd, you can have your personal space to enjoy, for jogging, fishing, kid's entertainment or party. Do visit and spend your time well.

Love this place! The park is never full, trails are beautifully maintained regardless of season.

They have places for everyone and most importantly, there's a free car or bike show always.

There are little Parks here and their trash cans everywhere walking and jogging paths small bodies of water throughout with fish in them basketball court tennis court Bridges beautiful landscaping educational placards about the plants bathrooms

For years this has been a family favorite to enjoy time together, from walks, to playing on the parks, fishing and many 5k races, between road races and obstacle course races. Nearly year-round there's an event here every weekend.

I take my dog on the hiking trails around here, and little paths. It's great views, has a few tiny lakes like ponds, and a few playgrounds of you have kids! For being in the city, it's very nice and a decent sized park!! I love it here!

Defined Kids play area, bicycle trails, fishing pools, RC track etc. Do visit and spend time alone, with family or with friends. Highly recommend.

Not just a play around park, calling all photographers!! There are so many awesome photo backdrops around this park!! The kids park has different sections with different kids of play equipment so it doesn’t get boring. Lots of area to go on walks too!

This is a beautiful do everything park! County upgraded all the walking/bike paths with new asphalt. Lakes, trees, handicapped spaces everywhere. Kids area for families, bbq pits, restrooms, bikes for rent, fishing, big festivals, A+++

Sedgwick County Park is the best. It has nice maintained trails to walk and bike, water fountains for people and dogs, and nicely maintained grounds. There's ponds to fish in, multiple play sets and play grounds for kids to play on. There are also covered shelters to rent with grills available too. There's several buildings to rent as well. They are constantly adding different attractions to the park. It's big and also right next to the zoo. Would recommend !

I love the calm and quietness of this park. Amazing place to sit, relax, read a book or just listen to the birds and sound of water flowing. If you're into fishing and all of the above, this park is a perfect combination for you!

Good place to go for a walk and feed the ducks plus this place is family oriented. Last weekend was a awesome car show FREE yeah it was nice, it was windy as heck but nice, where else can you go that has a car show for free on the weekend when you don't have a lot of money.

Really nice playground with lots to do, but does need lots of repairs (as of June 2022)

This is the park for long runs or walks. I enjoy the shaded path by the baseball fields.

Beautiful park for events big and small, from kids birthday parties and other recreational activities like fishing and tennis and biking to the annual Renaissance and Scottish highlands festival that is held here in the Spring and Fall!

This weekend was the weekend for the Great Plains Renaissance Festival. They had Highlands Games, many vendors, activities like “Chivalry for Children” and jousting, and food tents with delicious options. I enjoy traveling to this fair specifically because Sedgwick County Park is a wonderful venue. There is a stupendous running trail around the park, loads of beautiful trees, ponds, playgrounds, and I think there’s a zoo nearby, but I haven’t been there. This is hands down my favorite park to jog in because so much of the trail goes through forested area. There’s are a few public bathrooms on the grounds, too.
