Some friends of mine who have paid premiums for over a decade now of course have a home issue being denied. No visit to the house to see the problem. The answer was basically that “no insurance covers water in the basement.”

Make sure you know what’s covered before you pay, although having things “in writing” doesn’t prevent the interpretation from being twisted.
