First Gear Running Company is going out of business, they are having an amazing closeout sale. If you are a runner, needing shoes, workout clothing or trading supplies this is a great store to check out. I found some amazing deals and saved a lot of money.

As an older person who is new to running, the staff are exceedingly helpful. They helped size me and recommended shoes based upon my foot structure and fitness goals. They stock hard to find products such as Hoka at a price comparable to online vendors. After a the fitting, I found out I am actually a size 10 instead of a size 9. This small change has allowed me to run pain free as a runner in his 50s. First Gear has extended my fitness goals which may extend me life. As a frugal online shopper, I will only buy fitness shoes from First Gear from now on.

My kids run cross country and track. 1st Gear is filled with the most knowledgeable staff. They really help you to find the right gear. Helpful not thirsty staff. Inexperienced runners can go hear for advice. They have the nicest shoes at a price point for each of us.

First Gear’s customer service is second to none. I chose a shoe that ended up being not right for me, and they were so understanding and fitted me all over again in to a shoe that is perfect. They also have really cute running clothes and accessories. Awesome local business thank you.

Was met at the door. He listened to my needs and concerns. Asked questions about my shoe preferences and found 4 options that all fit and felt great. So glad I decided to go there. Bought a great pair of shoes that feel and look good. Thank you, First Gear. One thing more, they are closer to Rock Island than to Moseley, at the back of the parking lot. After 3 wks in these shoes my feet feel great. Thanks First Gear.

Excellent customer service and fair prices. I went in needing a pair of running shoes, and I am completely clueless as to what I'm looking for. The staff selected three pairs that were best for my foot and to correct the inner knee pain I experience when running.

I was surprised to find their prices were competitive as well. Sure, I could have gotten a cheaper shoe elsewhere, but I would probably still have knee pain. I looked for my pair online after purchasing and couldn't find them cheaper anywhere.

They also have a great selection of other running gear. I will definitely return.

In this age of online shopping and people always trying to get the best price, I'll tell you why I've been shopping at First Gear Running Company for almost 10 years. Customer service. Whether it's making sure I have the right products, Raquel cheering me on during workout nights and loaning me her training books, or Javier placing cones out on the College Hill course and then stopping to give me some water when he saw I was struggling, today--that's why I shop First Gear and nowhere, else. Great service to the Wichita running community and bang for your buck. Support your local, hometown businesses! Thank you, First Gear.

Trudy was very helpful. She brought out shoe after shoe until both my husband and I found a pair that was perfect. These were anniversary gifts to one another and it worked out great!

Was in there yesterday and the staff is great. I emailed them Thursday night with a question as I don't live in Wichita and had an answer when I checked my email the next morning. Was a bit worried on pricing as I couldn't see pricing on their site as I've never spent more than $25 on a pair of shoes. The other store I was looking at had somewhat high pricing. Was happy to find that when I got home and googled the shoe I got it was basically the same as other places, if I were to buy online anyway. Will definitely go back if/when I need new shoes.

The owner spent an hour consulting me on my running style and provided several options for me in my size. Great selection and customer service. So far the shoes I bought are my favorite to date. I'll definitely be back.

Absolutely excellent informed and professional service from the staff, wonderful top of the line running products and a fun, fast atmosphere to boot. I learned about local run groups and races while I was fitted for shoes, and received advice for my next race, free of charge, from professionals!

You'll find a cheaper shoe, but First Gear's expertise is priceless. They also do a great deal, beyond selling shoes, to cultivate a strong running community in Wichita.
