Dr. Thomas and Mel were fantastic with my 2 week old who had tongue and cheek ties. They walked us through the entire process and didn’t pressure us to make the decision to have the ties released. They were informative and reassuring throughout the entire consult and procedure. The follow up care was great, with a check-in text a couple days following the procedure (on a Sunday!) and an in person follow-up to make sure we were doing the stretches correctly and he was healing well. They loved having my baby in their care and it showed! DEFINITELY recommend Dr. Thomas and her staff!!

I took my 9 month old daughter to Thomas Family Dental because her tongue and lip appeared to be restricted and she had numerous problems with feeding, sleeping, colic, etc. since she was born. I tried many things before going the dentist, but since my daughter still has a lot of trouble I took her to the dentist. Immediately, I felt such encouragement from Mel and Dr. Thomas when they examined my baby and told me that they were surprised I had made things work with Eleanor as long as I had and that it was not me, but her tongue was severely restricted. My daughter physically couldn’t reach the ruff her mouth and this was the root of so many problems I was having with her. They were able to do the cool laser surgery right after examination and getting my consent. In the next days and weeks incredibly progress was made. My daughter could finally say, “dada” and other sounds/words she was incapable of before. Her feeding and sleeping also have improved. I am very grateful to Thomas Family Dental for being an answer to my prayers and solving the unknown of why my daughter was having so many difficulties. It brings me to tears. I wish I had brought my daughter to them sooner.

Dr. Thomas and Mel were absolutely incredible taking care of our baby girl. She had some tie revisions that needed addressed that were contributing to latch issues with nursing. Dr. Thomas and her team were super helpful and very encouraging along the way. I would gladly trust any future kiddos with similar issues to the same care with no concern whatsoever.

I had such a great experience with all of the staff from Thomas Family Dental. Dr. Thomas and Mel were great with treating and caring my my daughter as if she was family and their own child. They explained everything and answered all of my questions. Lip and tongue tie revisions make a worlds difference for a newborn that is having difficulties nursing/feeding. Help yourself and your babies future by looking into these procedure.

Dr. Thomas and her whole team is AMAZING! My son had a grade 4 lip tie and grade 2 tongue tie. He was having so many issues. He had a bad latch which resulted in taking in air while eating which resulted in horrible stomach issues.

Not only did Dr. Thomas and Mel take care of my poor guy, they also made me feel so calm and relaxed about the whole experience. They even helped watch my other kids while I was nursing right after his procedure. They loved on my babies as if they were their own. His latch now is amazing and I have Dr. Thomas and Mel to thank! Recovery was smooth and doing his stretches was a breeze thanks to staff making sure we knew exactly what we needed to do to ensure his tie didn’t heal back together. I’m so glad we have someone in Mid-MO who is not only wonderful at her job, but a wonderful and caring doctor and we didn’t have to travel all the way to St. Louis or Kansas City to get his ties lasered.

When our lactation consultant suggested we take our 7 week old to a dentist for lip and tongue tie revision, we were very scared and nervous. But those feelings went away when we walked into the office and were greeted with a smiling face. The front staff was very friendly and inviting. Mel then brought us back to the exam room and thoroughly explained the procedure and what recovery may look like. She answered all of our questions with confidence and reassurance. Dr. Thomas then came in with the biggest smile on her face. She showed us the ties to make sure we were fully informed before doing any work. Both Mel and Dr. Thomas treated our little girl like their own. It was obvious they love what they do and only want what’s best for their patients.

We had a great experience at Thomas Family Dental! Dr. Thomas did a wonderful job revising my son's lip and tongue ties. She was very friendly and was knowledgable about everything we discussed. She also shared in my excitement of how much improvement we have had since his ties were revised just a week prior. Her dental assistant, Mel, was so friendly and super sweet. She explained the process of revision in great detail, showed me all the tools used, answered many questions, offered a nursing pillow, and most importantly, made me feel comfortable. It's always a little nerve-wracking when going to a new medical office for your child, but she treated my son like her own and I couldn't have asked for more friendlier person than Mel. She loved on my baby well. I would highly recommend taking your kids to Thomas Family Dental for any tie revisions!

We had an amazing experience at Thomas Dental! My 10 mo old had tongue tie revision done here - Dr. Thomas was efficient, informative, and kind to my little one! Mel was super friendly and kind as well to my baby. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience overall. We were very nervous going in and felt very reassured through the process.

Dr. Thomas and her staff were so friendly and well versed in working with babies and their parents. My child had a tongue and lip tie, and I was worried about whether the procedure would really help or not with feeding issues. Not only were Dr. Thomas and Mel knowledgeable about the procedure itself, but they were incredibly knowledgeable and took interest in the well-being of both me and my baby. We were concerned my baby had reflux, and it was at our appointment that we learned it’s likely from poor latch due to the ties. They have a well-oiled machine going for fixing oral ties, they’re incredibly helpful and kind. It’s also wonderful to be able to see medical professionals like infants and want to hold them/care for them even if they have to cause a little pain (for the greater good). We saw results within 3 days, and we were happy at our follow up to be able to see comparison pictures and discuss the tangible differences within a week. I highly recommend this office and Dr. Thomas.

I was referred to Dr. Thomas from a few different therapists that my daughter (2 years of age) was seeing for tongue and lip tie. We made the decision to have both of her ties revised by Dr. Thomas. Although the laser surgery process itself was quick, it was extremely difficult emotionally for my two year old and me. Dr. Thomas tried her best to make the procedure, recovery, and experience as positive as possible even though it was difficult. She offered communication throughout the healing process with direct access to her with questions or concerns, which was very important to me as a mother. Her assistant was very friendly and they were both very loving towards my child. Dr. Thomas was also reassuring about the future and what it holds for my child's care and that she would be there as my child progressed. I would recommend her & will be using her for my next newborn if there are any ties present.

Dr. Thomas and her staff were absolutely fantastic to work with. My two year old son who is visually impared needed to have his tongue tie released. Dr.Thomas was wonderful with my son, she was kind, gentle, informative, thorough and quick. If I did it again, I wouldn't change a thing. I can not recommend this business enough.

We had the best experience at Thomas Family Dental! My 10 week old daughter had her lip ties released by Dr Thomas, she was extremely patient with her during the procedure. Her assistant Mel was also so caring and helpful in comforting my daughter. Dr Thomas thoroughly explained the procedure with me and made sure I understood how to preform the after procedure stretches. Since having the lip tie procedure done, my daughter has slept through the night, has a much better latch on her bottle, falls asleep less often during feeds, reflux symptoms have completely resolved and she has had decreased hiccup episodes! Thank you Dr Thomas for helping my little princess!

Our daughter had tongue and lip ties that both needed to be addressed. Dr. Thomas and her office were absolutely wonderful. They explained things very well, and ensured we had multiple ways to reach out if we had any problems. They also did a great job helping to keep our other child occupied during the whole visit.

I was referred to Dr Thomas to evaluate my three month old son's lip and tongue tie. She was very communicative and explained her suggestion and the procedure thoroughly, as well as what to expect during the recovery period. The whole process was very smooth and the entire staff was wonderful with my son and to work with.

My 5 yr old son just had a tongue revision done. Dr. Thomas and Mel were so patient and kind in helping keep him calm and safe during the entire process. I’d highly recommend her to any family or friends with children.

Dr. Thomas did an excellent job. She got me in very quickly, was super friendly while I was there and had a great attitude. I unfortunately got new insurance when I got a new job that was not accepted and had to switch dentists. But she is a great dentist that I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for someone!

Dr Thomas is a wonderful dentist! She cares about her patients and takes such great care of us. I've gone to her for a couple years now and recommend her highly to all my family and friends. If you have a hard time with dentists, rest assured that she is gentle and gets the job done well.

Dr. Thomas and her entire staff are absolutely amazing. Professional staff, they genuinely care about you and their willingness to work around your schedule is much appreciated. Dr. Thomas is wonderful, she is the only Dentist who has went the extra mile to know and understand my fears. After many filling and several crowns and even a root canal, I have to say I'm very pleased with my care at Dr. Thomas's dental office. Highly recommended

I had my first appointment with Dr. Thomas. She is a competent professional. She did a careful examination, identified potential problem, made recommendation for following up treatment. I liked her positive attitude towards her patients and her positive attitude in general.

Dr. Thomas took over the practice from my previous dentist. She has upgraded the X-ray machine (with much less radiation) and introduced a few other changes. One change that I found difficult to get used to is the inability to give myself a thorough rinse. I am afraid changes of this nature, though minor, may prevent patients from coming back.

Dr. Thomas was highly recommended by my previous dentist. I am giving her the highest rating despite aspects that could be improved.

I love Dr. Thomas and her staff. She is so nice and always informative about what is going on and what needs to be done. She is also very gentle and I can honestly say I have never experienced any discomfort with any procedure she has done. Her hygienist Haylee is great also. I have relocated to Kansas City but continue to drive to Columbia for dental care with Dr. Thomas. I highly recommend her and her staff!!!
