Central Glass & Mirror

We had a glass shower door that we were unable to close because it was jamming against the metal frame at the bottom of the door, so it was in a fully opened position, no further than about 10% closed. I called a couple of glass companies to come out to fix it. They were unsure of what the problem might be since there were several physical factors at play between the frame parts and the glass itself. One company declined to attempt a repair, not sure of a decent remedy. The other company said that we would likely have to replace the glass and frame all together, since the vertical hinge seemed to be defective. Replacing everything would be several hundred dollars.

Then I remembered having used Central Glass before on a couple of projects over the years and had simply forgotten about them in my initial search. So I took pictures of the glass enclosure and went down to their shop and showed them. Jerid is their shower door expert, so I talked to him. From the pictures, he noticed that the top of the glass was not even with the top of the long vertical channel that the glass sits in and that the vertical channel also appeared to have a deteriorated hinge that runs the length of the glass's vertical channel. He said, "We should be able to fix that, no problem." He quoted me $125 plus parts to come out and remove it, take it to their shop, and return to install it. Or I could remove the glass door and bring it to them for repair and pick it up myself when done (for half that, meaning they would just be charging me for the labor plus parts, at their shop). Obviously it was well worth it for me not to have to remove and transport it to them and have it returned after the repair. Parts were only $17, so I was extremely pleased to have this done quickly and efficiently with a very skilled crew of two installers to execute the job at my home. They obviously have the customer's best interest at heart.

I also reflected on the other times Central did glass repair/replacements for me, which were very fairly priced and done in the same professional manner. I kinda kicked myself for calling the other two companies first, having forgotten about Central (my 77 year old brain failing me :-) Don't hesitate to use them. One phone call will solve your problem and at a very fair price. Thanks to Jerid and Central's extremely gracious and responsive front desk receptionist who fielded my calls and followed up with updates, in process.

Scott & Jeremy are literal saints. They are extremely professional, beyond considerate & just all around a couple of great dudes. I've been trying to get 21W Apartments to fix 2 of my windows for about 8 months. Though that's a drag, I do have to give them credit for the company they chose. Scott & Jeremy were definitely given a rough job, but they handled it with ease. No complaints here, give em a call!

In love with my new shower door! They did an awesome job with installation. GREAT QUALITY! I would advise going into the showroom to see all options available - During consultation, recommendations were not provided and design options (Glass tinting and handle types) were not presented. I would still definitely recommend.

Had no used a glass service in some time. Made some calls, other companies stated they could not get to us for a couple of months. Don't call us we'll call you! I made a minimalist desk and left the top of my desk as raw wood. While I love the look, it was not comfortable for leaning my arms against while working. I contacted Central Glass via email to inquire about a glass top. They answered my email within 24hrs, answered all of my questions and were able to have my glass top fabricated and ready for pick up within a couple of days. Central Glass will be my go-to for any future glass/mirror needs!

Office personnel is direct...Does extensive research to fulfill vintage replacement parts requested...
Last but not least is their pricing...they do excellent work for more reasonable $'s than anyone else in Wichita...

My crafty wife made a coffee table and I needed to purchase a 40" by 42" piece of glass for the top. I called around to four different local companies, and Central Glass and Mirror were not only the lowest price, but the easiest to deal with. At the other places I called for quotes, they wanted my email, address, phone number, company name, and then put me on hold for 10 minutes BEFORE they'd give me a quote! Central, on the other hand, I told what I needed, and they immediately gave me a price, and the glass was done and PERFECT the following business day. Other companies were telling me it would take 7 business days! All in all, Central has earned my business for life. I don't purchase glass too often, but if I ever find myself in the market, Central is where I will be going.
