The Robert J. Dole VA Medical Center provides top notch care. They go above and beyond on every visit. We are receiving better care at the VA then he did in the private sector. The Robert J. Dole VA Medical Center really cares about taking care of our veterans!

I have been going to the VA ever since I returned from a deployment in Iraq in 2009. The service is phenomenal and they seemingly strive to give the best quality care to all veterans. ER visits are incredibly fast (have been there 5 times in 13 years) and the longest wait has been 5 (five, cinco) MINUTES...!! Give me VA medical care ANYTIME before I get civilian care.. Thank you Bob Dole VA staff.....

I want to shout out to the Dr's PTs social workers nurses and staff on the second floor and icu for taking such wonderful care of my dad. Each and every one was super friendly they came in and introduced themselves and explained what was going on. My dad loves coming to RJD VA especially when he is not a big fan of hospitals. Thank you all again for everything.

I just recently separated from the military and was very nervous to seek care at a VA facility, as I didn't always have the best experiences with the medical care offered to me while I was active. I was even moreso nervous after reading some of these reviews and struggling to get ahold of someone to make my initial appointment. Although it can be difficult to get ahold of someone and wait times can be a bit more than I'd hope, I understand many of the limitations and shortcomings of government Healthcare in general.

However, once I arrived for my initial visit (of which I had SEVERAL medical issues I wanted to address), I was blown away. For starters, this is a huge facility, which as far as I saw, seemed very clean and nicely updated! Everyone is incredibly friendly, approachable, and more than willing to help! I saw Dr. Terrell and Sandra who were both incredible! I am a bit stressed out trying to figure out all my health issues and they were helpful, professional, and attentive. They really helped ease alot of my worries! In my experience, it isn't common to find a medical team who truly listens and tries their best to legitimately address all your concerns. I am incredibly grateful for that experience!

I also had to stop in at labs and to get my veteran health ID card. Of which, the service was also beyond my expectations.

This post is in recognition of the outstanding support, I just recently received at the VA. My surgeon was Dr. Wilkerson. His diagnosis and treatment, of a possible cancerous growth, was beyond outstanding. The outcome was that it was benign and there are no words that express the joy for myself and fiancee....
Also, the entire staff was very professional and caring during the Hospital stay.

This was my 1st va after getting out of the army. I have been to alot of different ones since now I moved away from Kansas. I will and still to this day think this is thee best VA I have ever been to. The doctors a d nurses even the case managers. I wish I didn't live so far away I would still be going here.

Today I walked in with a dental emergency, I have not wanted to go because of how I was treated the last visit back in 2013. What a shock I experienced today with the way I was treated. The dentist got me in immediately and treated me better than I have ever been treated at any appointments anywhere. They have renewed my faith in them.

I was in the VA two weeks ago getting my yearly check up. I was sick. I complained to my Doctor and she said she couldn't find anything wrong with me, but I should go to the ER if I got worse. Why couldn't my Doctor examine me to see I had a sinus infection? The more time that went by the worse I got. I debated going to the VA ER because I didn't want to be sent home sick again. Thank God for Dr. Kimberly Graham. She deserves some praise. If everybody at the VA cared as much about their patients as Dr. Graham did you wouldn't have a bunch of sick veterans running around.

I was concerned about using the VA when I retired from the Air Force 2 years ago. All I read about was how bad VA medical facilities were. In 2 years, I have never had issues getting an appointment and the personnel working there have been great. In fact the level of care is far superior than I have ever had anywhere else.

The care my husband has been getting in the last 1-2 years has greatly improved! Special thanks to Micah of Pain Management! My husband is a Desert Storm Veteran, ARMY. He has been going to the VA for many years. I first met my husband about 14 years ago and he had to quit going to the VA because his primary doctor sent him into a medically induced hepatitis, not once but twice. He had complained several times about his care but nothing ever came from it, until one day (around 5 years ago) he got a phone call from the VA asking him why he was not going to his appointments. Things started to turn around then. He finally got an American doctor who would actually listen to him (Not Middle Eastern- which was who he fought in the war, unsettling for a vet. Each ME doctor he had treated him as if he was completely ignorant) . Slowly, things got better. In the past year or two, my husband has received very good care here! Before, they were just giving him cortisone shots in his back, neck and knees for his pain. He had been doing this for 10+ years without any relief. Now, they have sent him to physical therapy, weekly chiropractic appointments and have issued him a cervical traction unit and a tens unit for in home use. This has helped him tremendously! He also just had a knee replaced (which was long overdue, because the doctors before refused to do it saying it was not service related. Jumping out of airplanes is not bad on your knees?!?) Anyhow, the surgery went very well! The anesthesiologist was awesome and so was the doctor! In recovery, we had great nurses and a few that weren't so great. But, overall, we were very pleased with the surgery. He is a healthy strong man, so recovery went very well too. They got him all the care he needed post-op.
So, to sum it up... If you have stopped going to the Wichita VA because of poor care in the past, you should give them a shot again. They have really stepped up their game! We are now very pleased with the care he gets!
Unfortunately, we will be making a move to Salt Lake City, Utah in the near future. We really hope that the SLC VA has the same great service as Wichita. If not, we will return to Wichita to get his other knee replaced when the time comes....that's how happy we are with them now!
Hopes this helps!

My doctor and care team have been excellent. I can leave a message and always receive a call back. My appointments have never been rescheduled or have been made to wait for an unreasonable amount of time for anything.

Got in right away and got service quickly. My problem was evaluated and a remedy was worked out. I received a cortisone shot in the area of my pain. Thought it helped, but as always it's just me having my hopes so high when something new is provided. I'm still back to square one, pain is a terrible sickness. I would rate it worse then Covid, you don't get it for 15+ years and still have it.

I just spent five days in the ICU with heart problems. From the minute I stepped into the emergency room until I checked out there has been nothing but respect and professionalism shown towards me. The doctors, nurses, and service staff were awesome. I totally respect them and what they do. Thank you all.

I've always received good care from the ER. not so much my PCP. The nurse hotline is a joke they can never give you an idea, they just ask you if your dying or to just come in. It's a very pointless hotline, of all the patients and of years of experience of dealing with patients and symptoms the nurses there have not a clue on how to help or give advice. Atleast the ones I talk to. Dumb, the last doctor I visited though in the ER for strep was great.

Improving mental and behavioral health cannot be done unless the individual client is ready to work. In my experience, the professionals at this facility we more than willing to walk along side to help. Special shout out to Dr Eboh! Best. Listener. Ever. But she didn’t just listen. She changed my life.
