Little play area but good for younger children

Great little neighborhood park. Has 2 swings, a couple small slides & things to climb on, with a decent sized grassy area for Frisbee. Geared mostly for smaller children but also has a covered seating area with a stationary BBQ grill.

• Phillips Park was named in honor of 2 of the town founders, the late Colonel William Addison Phillips who was a famous Civil War Veteran as well as a U.S. Congressman for Kansas, and finally an Attorney General for the Cherokee Nation located in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. His younger brother David Lawrie Phillips was presumed dead after a mysterious disappearance on his way to California in 1883.
• Salina, Kansas was first founded in the spring of 1858 by 5 Free-State abolition supporters, just prior to the outbreak of Civil War in 1861. One of the other town founders named Alexander Melvin Campbell had married Christina Phillips, sister to the founding Phillips Brothers
