Great place to eat or just to enjoy a drink in a fun atmosphere!

Good Cajun food is hard to find in the Midwest but this place nailed it. I had the shrimp wrap and my wife has the mahi tacos. The wrap was so well put together, which sounds weird but many places don't take the time to wrap food well and it's falling apart by the time you get to the end. Also, there was plenty of shrimp and bacon all the way through the wrap which is also rare. The FRIES THOUGH! Man they were awesome. Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The flavor and texture were spot on!

We sat lake-side and watched the fish swim around and enjoyed the beautiful scenery which I highly recommend. The service was good, the food was great and the atmosphere was excellent.

We love this place! Enjoyed the food so much! The service is great! Our server here was attentive and helpful. Definitely recommend the oysters and the shrimp appetizers here!! The biegnets are the perfect dessert!

This place allows for great views of the water and you can even feed the fish!

Best crawfish etoufee my wife has EVER had! Sitting by the water in the moonlight, great service, rest of our food was really good too. Awesome experience! It'll keep you coming back over and over, night after night. No reason to go anywhere else!

We just arrived in town and needed something great with a view. This place was exactly that! Every dish was delicious! Our waitress explained how some of their dishes seem to be a bit different that traditional Cajun. Even so it was amazing! The crab cakes OMG so good! Our waitress was very busy but she was very attentive and informative. We had a nice water view and it was relaxing for the most part. We will definitely be back!

We visited from out of state, and loved everything about this place. Great food, good service and they made our experience fun. Highly recommend!!!

The food was delicious and the drinks were nice and strong. Lol

Nice lunch spot along the water with good food and quiet atmosphere.
Prices were a bit high but you’re paying for the location and view so that’s understandable.
Oysters were alright, but the deep fried calamari was great.
Salad was also very good along with the dirty rice (bit salty) and crawfish étouffée.
Hope to visit again.

My mom is from Louisiana, so I grew up eating Cajun. Living in the Midwest, I have tried many places claiming to serve Cajun/Creole food and it ALWAYS falls short. Shorty’s is not in that list, from the very first bite I was sent back to being a little girl sitting in my MawMaw’s kitchen while she made homemade gumbo, jambalaya, cornbread, etc. Every item we ate was spot in and delicious! If you are in the area, Shorty’s is a MUST! My southern heart is happy today.

Very very very good. Friendly service. Fairly attentive. Nice vibe from the other restaurants blaring music so loudly you can’t think. Docks were in good shape.

Only reason for 4/5 stars was they allowed smoking. Several tables around us left earlier than we had hoped due to the older couple chain smoking right next to us.

It’s 2021 get that junk outta here. Sick.

Amazing staff, charming atmosphere, and most importantly great food! We will definitely come back to this restaurant when we come back to Lake of the Ozarks!

We visited Shorty Pants on our last night in the Ozarks at the recommendation of a local. It was amazing. The peel and eat shrimp were great, the margarita was solid, the rainbow sherbet hurricane was good, the blackened catfish with etouffee crawfish was exceptional, and the shrimp and grits tacos were fantastic. The gumbo was probably the weakest part of the dinner. Best meal overall we had here during our four night stay.

My husband and I read the reviews of this place and decided to come - we love Cajun food, having been to New Orleans several times (and I lived there for a bit). The food was great, especially considering Missouri is not Cajun country. We sat outside by the water and got to watch the massive fish swim by. If you like Cajun food, definitely give this a try!

Well, lemme tell y'all 'bout Shorty Pants Lakeside Cajun down there in Osage Beach. Now, darlin', you got options – you can roll on up in your car, tires crunchin' on the gravel, or you can cruise in on your boat, feelin' the water's rhythm like a good ol' zydeco tune.

Soon as you walk in, that smell hits ya – spices and flavors minglin' in the air like folks at a crawfish boil. The menu's like a juke joint playlist, full of Cajun classics that'll make your taste buds do the two-step. And let me tell ya, that first bite, whether it's a boudin ball or some gumbo, it's like a one-way ticket straight to the Bayou State.

But it ain't just 'bout the grub, cher. Naw, it's 'bout that view too. Look out them windows, and you'll see that lake stretchin' out like a lazy gator sunnin' itself. Sunsets? Honey, they paint that sky with colors that'd make a Mardi Gras parade jealous.

So, whether you're steerin' that boat into the dock or rollin' up in your truck, Shorty Pants, it's like they done brought a slice of the bayou to the Midwest. It's a taste of home, a little bit of Louisiana magic tucked away in them Ozark hills. Laissez les bon temps rouler, y'all!

Arrived right at opening so they weren't crowded out at all .
The waitress was very friendly and outgoing . Very knowledgeable about the menu also and I can't remember her name unfortunately.
I ordered the steak sandwich. It was really good and cooked to order .

Absolutely cool place to eat! Loved their food and vibe. Perfect place for a hyper child! They let you feed the fish! 💯 for us!

We were in town for 5 days and even with all the other options we ate here 3 different times. The atmosphere is great. The wait staff said they were short staffed so things took a little longer but I could see they were doing the best they could. The food was absolutely amazing.

Sat quickly for lunch. The seater was accommodating when we asked to sit outside but in a shady spot with the baby.

Server was attentive.

Between the 2 of us we had: crab cakes, Cajun BLT wrap, 2 spicy margaritas, and an ABSOLUT Mimosa.

Def could recommend the wrap and the margarita 😍. I’m not a fan of crab cakes in general so I did not try.

We went here for my birthday dinner for the first time. Super yummy meals! We got calamari to start and dinner was great too!

Great food and drinks.service was above expected.
