Lake Springfield Park and Boathouse

Lovely little get-away inside Springfield. Boathouse with kayaks for rent, some souvenirs and small snacks as well as drinks are available. Pavilions plus the boat house(indoor venue complete with kitchens) are available. Playground at the South Pavilion plus swings at the North Pavilion along with a basketball court is also available. Paved trail along with a more rugged Ozark and Lake Springfield are also there. Bonus….a disc golf course too! Plenty of parking up by the entrance and how’s by the boat house.

This is a nice place. We went to a small wedding here and it was great. The views were beautiful and the tables and chairs were nearly new. The kitchen was functional for a wedding, graduation party, or reception.

Lovely area and we really enjoyed walking the trails after having a picnic lunch.

Wonderful nature space. Uncrowded, excellent wooded hiking trail system, great green spaces, play equipment, and a very nicely marked disc golf course.

The only thing needed is an extension of the paved trailway for the elderly and parents pushing a baby.

Kayak rentals are easy to do. The staff are well organized. Rentals are done in the boathouse and then they launch just behind the building into the lake. Great paddle for beginners, can paddle a loop from the boathouse up the river to the nature center and then float back.

A beautiful place to hike and see aome beauty. I dont like that theyve cut all the scrubbery out. Its no longer as magical as it once was. But it still has some pretty views overlooking the lake. A great atomostphere too.

We held my daughter’s wedding here in October of 2020. The many windows provided lots of natural light and made for a beautiful backdrop. The outdoor area in the front is a beautiful area to hold the actual wedding. They have a kitchen, and they also include all the tables and chairs. Very affordable and we had BBQ catered for the reception.

Lake Springfield Park is a wonderful place to spend your day. The lake is beautiful. It's really good for kayaking, fishing and trail hiking. I live it and I highly recommend it to everyone.

What a wonderful place! Ive lived in Springfield for many years and have never been here until today. I have learned the error of my ways. This place is amazing! Theres kayaks and canoes to rent, a park to enjoy, frisbee golf course, playground for the kids with picnic tables. My family plans on coming soon to enjoy some of the amenities. It was so nice to be able to see a wide variety of waterfowl so close to a major city. Thank you to the Park Board for this wonderful gem!

A great place to get out on the water! The boathouse and marina are only a few minutes south of town, but once you're at the shoreline, it feels like you've left the city behind. Lake Springfield is calm and serene and perfect for a leisurely paddle in a canoe or kayak, which you can rent right at the boathouse if you need one!

Lake Springfield is easy to maneuver around. Gorgeous scenery, plenty of wildlife viewing.
Weekends are definitely busier then weekdays.

Awesome place. Canoe/kayak/paddleboards for $10/hour. Beautiful scenery, friendly staff. A great way to spend an afternoon.

Lake Springfield Park And Boathouse Is A Great Natural Resource We Are Fortunate To Have Here In Our Own Backyard In Springfield Mo. I've been there many times through the years and the park has always felt safe, clean and well cared for regardless of the time of year. There is an abundance of wildlife including a pair of Bald Eagles that can on occasion be seen in or around the Lake so be sure and keep your phones/cameras ready for those fun unexpected photo opps! The kids will love the parks main playground area with its swings and jungle gym and the parents/caregivers will appreciate its covered pavilion with picnic tables and an incredible view of the lake! There is a paved walking trail that winds its way along the water's edge to the lakes Boat House! Here you will find clean bathrooms and a small gift shop with basic snacks, water and soft drinks along with a helpful staff that are there to answer questions as well as rent you kayaks and canoes to get you out on the lake for the hour or the day! Lake Springfield Park Is A Fun, Family Friendly Way To Reconnect With a bit of nature and a great place for you and/or the kiddos to get some fun exercise playing and exploring all the park has to offer. :)

Another fantastic linear Greenway's Trail! This trail skirts Lake Springfield and joins the Audubon trail loop at the lake's edge. Views and sounds are serene and undisturbed by traffic. Fantastic and oddly beautiful contrast between the Springfield Power Plant and the surrounding lake and greenery, trees and bluffs.

Great place for a hike, ride your bike, or just sit and relax. Good for most ages. Lots of picnic areas. Lots of deer the night we were leaving.

Easy access to the water, free, good walking trails, good location. Decent fishing too!

Excellent experience for beginners! Other half was very nervous about being in a canoe. 20 minutes on the water and she was like a trained professional! Helpful staff and great equipment to rent! Now we're in the market for our own canoe!
