OMO Japanese Soul Food

Absolutely amazing! I enjoyed every single bite and sip. First time here with friends and family to celebrate my birthday and I couldn't ask for anything more. The food was hot and fresh. The atmosphere was welcoming. The staff was wonderful. I definitely will recommend this place. I enjoyed the ramen, sushi, dumplings, spring rolls and a few other items! The presentation was just as amazing as it tasted. Prices are great and the portions are even better. Very understanding of my mother's allergy restrictions.

My new favorite Japanese food place!

11/7/23 We went back for our second trip. This time, there were 8 of us. Everyone enjoyed it, service was great, food was fabulous!

This was the best restaurant ever. I've tried many asian restaurants before, but this one was off the charts! Our server was so sweet and kind. The food was amazing! Very authentic, hot, and delicious. Best customer service. Not a long wait either. :D

The entire dining experience was amazing. We had potstickers and takoyaki for appetizers and sushi and ramen for our main dishes. We want to come back and try more of the menu. We highly recommend and would eat here again.

Was trying to find something new that we haven't had. This was a little gem we found with great food. Service was extremely great as well.

ohhmo! .. this was very good. everything from the adorable happy wait staff to the cleanliness and the food. great place for sushi and bento box style food. Prices are decent portions are good sharable sizes. I thought the menus lay out was amazing with the explanation on how to pick out the food. They did a great job for people that aren't sure how to order this makes it easy! The vegy and shrimp tempura were so delish the batter was slightly different than typical tempura, thicker. We tried the Mutant Ninja Turtle, the Lion King, and the Spicy Tuna. The Turtle was a very sweet roll, the spicy tuna being just what it says. this is my favorite large pieces of tuna spiced up inside a sushi roll and the Lion King was toasted! yum!.. I can't wait to go back and try more! We found this place because we were having a late lunch 2pm on a Thursday... many other sushi places in town weren't even open at all im so glad we found OMO!

My favorite casual yet still feeling upscale Japanese dining. There food has never been short of amazing and the restaurant is aptly named, soul food. Personally I love their ramen or udon but their menu has many great eats and deals.
Inside the atmosphere is comfortable, though a bit cramped.

I was craving ramen and decided to give this restaurant a try, and it was 200% worth it! I like the decor of the restaurant, the uniforms of the waitresses, but the star of the show is definitely the food. The broth was incredibly flavorful, the Chashu was impeccable, and I honestly wish I would've come into this place absolutely starving. Don't even second guess coming here, I 11/10 recommend it!

I came here with a friend for lunch the other day, and it was really one of my first times having Japanese. When I got there, the staff was really friendly and accommodating. Our food was brought out in a very timely manner, and it was very delicious! I thought the serving size was excellent for the price- it’s a good bang for your buck. I would definitely come here again next time I’m craving some Japanese.

Food is Amazing. Every bite was perfect. Service was terrible. Young lady who felt the need to lie to us and showed no remorse for her mistake.

Had to have it two days in a row while in town for work. Great food and incredible service. Everyone there is so polite and helpful. Food is absolutely grand.

This time my kiddos got a California and new California roll - two thumbs up!

I got the Udon with Chicken Katsu! Very flavorful and warm and wonderful. Very comforting!

We also tried the Dango rice dessert and Mochi ice cream. The dango is dang-o weird and awesome!! So so good. The mochi was just as you’d expect and quite tasty!

It's hard to choose what to eat when visiting OMO because everything the menu offers is tasty! This time around, we had the fried calamari and spring rolls to start. Then, we shared the three rolls pictured: crunchy roll, California roll, and ahi tuna roll. All delicious!
The service was great. Regardless of how busy it was, we got our food in a timely manner and the staff did check in on us/give refills.
If you're in south Springfield area, this is a great place to eat in or carry out!

This was a Friday night first for us. The food was delicious and the staff were super friendly. We had the rab ragoons, California roll, spring rolls, Geisha roll, Tonkatsu Curry and the Fuji Mountain Chicken. We will return for another meal.

Visited this Japanese restaurant recently and enjoyed their well-crafted sushi. The yellow curry, while not exactly Thai style, had a distinct Japanese touch. The balance of spices and coconut milk was well-executed. Worth a try if you're looking for a different take on Japanese cuisine.

I love Sushi and dumplings.This was not my first visit. My first experience obviously kept me going back. The sushi is just amazing. And the people nice here too!I always looks forward to a visit again!

The food is amazing and worthwhile. My go to ramen Is a udon chicken katsu ramen with pork belly the broth is rich and the noodles are a perfect chewiness for my taste. The staff are very friendly and helpful they answer any questions about the menu. I love the overall decorations and the vibe about this place. I got the pleasure of meeting the owners and the kitchen staff at least once while I was eating, they are genuinely hard working and kinda people. I love to bring friends and family here and I can't wait to come back. You should come eat at OMO.

The ramen was phenomenal, large portion (as expected). Sushi was top notch, tried 4 different rolls. Waitress was very nice and attentive. Will definitely be visiting again.

This is my favorite Japanese restaurant. The service attitude is very good. The takoyaki, ramen, and sushi all taste great. The portions are also very generous and the price is reasonable. I highly recommend everyone to give it a try. Highly recommended!

I love eating out at OMO when we are in Springfield. The Udon in pork broth with beef is my go to meal when we visit, my husband loves the sushi rolls: green monster and dragon roll, I love they eel roll it is quite refreshing. The food is always made fresh and worth the short wait(we have never waited more than 35 minutes for fresh food here). They have a great verity of sushi and other dishes to choose from. Some are on the spicy side but they have them marked on the menu so its not a surprise. The Japanese soda is fun to open and drink if you've never had it before. The tea is also great here, you get a whole pot of hot water to your self and it's less than $3 per bag, you get about 5 cups per bag depending on how strong you like it. This place is a must try if you love Japanese culture and are an anime fan.
